We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alex Collier a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
When my husband and I got married, we were blown away by the love and care our wedding vendors put into our event. It was truly a joy to work with them and it felt like they cared about our special day as much as we did. So when I set out to launch my brand and web design business, I knew I wanted to serve the wedding industry. My mission is the help wedding pros elevate their brands so that they can showcase their expertise and connect with their dream clients. I love empowering fellow business owners to create a life and career on their own terms and to step into a new chapter in their business!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Alex Collier is a brand and web designer specializing in serving wedding professionals. As the founder of Alex Collier Design, I’m dedicated to crafting websites and brands that beautifully capture the high-end and heartfelt experiences wedding pros offer to their couples. I am an official Showit Design Partner and design all of my client sites on the platform. In addition to custom brand and web design, I also offer template customization services and sell Showit templates. I know that impactful design is key throughout all stages of business, so I’m passionate about serving wedding pros along their entire business journey.
I started my career in the classroom as a middle school teacher. When I realized I didn’t see a long term future in the profession, I made the jump to design. Around the same time, I was planning my wedding and fell in love with the wedding industry. When I started my business, it was a natural fit to serve wedding professionals. Over the years, I’ve designed for photographers, planner, florists, musicians and DJs, venues, and more!
My approach to design is holistic. I strive to balance stunning visuals with functionality, including search engine optimization and user experience. I embrace a “less is more” ethos, ensuring that every single element of a design is impactful and purposeful.
What I’m most proud of is my client experience. I consistently hear from my clients they felt so heard throughout the process. Branding can be very vulnerable as we dig into all aspects of your business, and it’s always my goal to lend a listening ear and to come alongside my clients as a trusted partner and guide. I also consistently have clients return for more design work as their businesses grow which is always the greatest compliment!


Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think the importance of client experience can’t be overstated. A lot of my business comes from referrals from past clients, which I take as a huge compliment that speaks volumes about my client experience. Things such as responding promptly, listening to customer concerns with empathy, and viewing your clients as a collaborative partner are all cornerstones of how I approach working with clients. I aim to be my clients’ guide throughout the design process, making everything from pre-work to feedback clear and straightforward. I will always go above and beyond for my clients because I wouldn’t have a business without them! My clients are truly the best and serving them well has been key in building my reputation as a designer.


How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I love staying in touch with my clients after our design experience has ended! We really do become close throughout the design process so this feels very genuine and natural. It’s important to me to continue to cheer them on in their businesses. This can be as simple as for example, replying to an Instagram story where a client shared a win to congratulate them! I know as a business owner, social media engagement can be tough, so I always make a point to comment on my clients’ posts that stop my scroll or to answer a question they posted. Doing things like this can not only keep you top of mind with your clients, but also foster a greater sense of know, like, and trust. It’s one reason why I love owning a business…because it’s all about relationships!
