Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex And Jodi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alex and Jodi, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
Jodi: I’ve spent most of my career in both the corporate and start-up worlds, with a bit of experience in small business. But my true passion has always been creating. While we launched our current business a bit later in life, I’ve never stopped pursuing my creative interests. I’m really grateful for how everything lined up—having years of business experience has given me the balance to blend creativity with the practical side of running a company.
If I could go back, I don’t think I’d change when I started. The timing has been perfect, because my experience has allowed me to approach this venture with a solid foundation, giving me the space to thrive creatively while managing the operational side of the business.
Alex and Jodi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Alex: Sure! Here’s a bit about what we do:
We help make events in Austin unforgettable, offering services like our stylish champagne cart rental for weddings, parties, and corporate events. We also host fun workshops, like our Charcuterie class, where we teach guests how to create beautiful spreads. Through our blog and Instagram, we share approachable tips on décor, party planning, and cocktail recipes to inspire others to host memorable gatherings.
What sets us apart is our focus on creativity, style, and those little details that make an event special. We’re proud of the connections we’ve built and love helping clients bring their visions to life. We’re always open to collaborating with local businesses—florists, photographers, or other event vendors—to elevate any event experience.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Jodi: We’re always evolving! When we first started, we were all about renting out a single champagne cart. But as we gained more followers on Instagram and partnered with some amazing companies, we realized there was so much more we could do. We leaned into our passion for event planning and started expanding our services.
We’re always checking in with each other and ourselves to make sure our growth still aligns with what we love and what our goals are. But we’ve learned that it’s key to stay open to new opportunities and see where they take us!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Alex: At first, we were really concerned about the competition and whether our niche was getting too saturated. But what we’ve learned is that the event planning community here is incredibly supportive. Instead of seeing others as competition, we’ve found so many ways to collaborate and help each other out. There’s more than enough room for all of us to thrive!
