We recently connected with Alessandra Guth and have shared our conversation below.
Alessandra , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
The best thing my parents ever did was be themselves. I grew up in southern coastal California with a Naval pilot father and an opera-singing yogi mother. Their jobs and passions could not have been more different, as my dad strolled around town in an award embellished flight suit and my mom in stage makeup or patterned, hippie leggings. His hair was crew cut and hers flowed long in untamed waves. He taught me Christianity and she brought me to Hindu temples. They were so “them-selves”, they were almost like cartoon characters. This is one of many things they did right. This is why I am the artist and woman I am today.
Being an only child with divorced parents is uniquely abundant and lonely. But it also allowed for my parents to perfect their crafts and grow into themselves as individuals. Watching this dynamic as a young girl was powerful and left lasting impacts on me to be someone with integrity, drive, and balance. Both my father and mother would spend their afternoons at their desks, organizing their businesses, their personal lives, their understanding of the current world. They both over-worked themselves, hit a wall, and learned to pace. This happened more than once to both of them, and I watched them persevere into more wise, more resilient, and more capable adults. Through hard times, they taught me the power of pausing and grieving. Through the wins, they showed me humility and pressure to out perform themselves next time. They took care of themselves. They healed themselves. They were successful for themselves and for me, which gave me an incredible childhood and a more incredible blueprint to living life.
It wasn’t the difference of the cockpit to a red-velvet stage, or the variance of religious and political beliefs that gives them the gold star of being the greatest parents. Something they did perfectly was knowing who they were, and seeking what else that included as time passed. They lead by example being two diverse personalities and working as hard as they needed to be successful in whatever made them tick.
I’m proud to be an artist. I’m proud of my hobbies and my interests and my ability to keep going. I am proud of myself and I feel in control of my future. But mostly, I’m so proud of my parents.

Alessandra , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Alessandra Guth, and I am a 26 year old artist and celebrity assistant. I earned a BFA from Pepperdine University, studying fine art sculpture, painting and photography. I then completed a Masters of Strategic Innovation from Texas Tech, where I also received a Certificate in Advanced Digital Media. During my childhood I was obsessed with photography and various styles of painting. In the 6 years I was a college student, I freelanced in photography and small business media consulting across Austin, TX and Los Angeles, CA.
After school, I returned to Malibu and held a corporate role as an Influencer Marketing Specialist for a couple years. During my free time, I photo assisted editorial photographers for publications such as Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, and Numero. My personal photography projects began pushing new boundaries and my portfolio grew. After getting to know the photography industry, I began leaning towards music video or film production, which came to me in an avenue I didn’t know anything about: personal assisting.
One of my first clients was an owner of a female-run PR firm. I worked part time for her as I finished up my marketing role and slipped out of editorial photo gigs. Eventually I was picked up by an amazing staffing agency who placed me with an unbelievable actress/producer pair whom I currently work for on a bi-coastal basis. My dream of working in the film industry is happening as I continue to grow as a personal assistant off and on-set. My free time now consists of creating a gallery-intended series of paintings which I have wanted to create for years now. My photography is all personal projects, leaning towards being example of potential clip art for movie promo’s, or creative direction for short or long format films. I feel more balanced and productive than ever, as I have time to produce as much art as I wish while building my skills as a high-end assistant.
My OCD and only-child nature gives me a perfect upbringing to be a seamless assistant. Something about my easy going personality also allows me to mold into any room I walk into. My artwork is now as honed in as ever. I believe my series, The FaceCards, will show people my unique style of rendering humans, while also exposing a new way of rendering personalities into cartoons of themselves.
I’m really proud of myself, and I don’t think I’ve ever really said that about myself as an artist. It’s taken me a lot of years of practicing and failing and producing weird stuff to finally figure out what’s really me and what was just a moment of emoting that needed to be let out but kept personal.
I hope my future is exponential. I want to work for and assist the largest person possible while also being known for these FaceCards that pour out of me so easily.
And then I’ll draw said UHNW boss into a FaceCard and it’ll sell for millions, one day hanging next to a Picasso. Maybe I’ll direct a feature film that’s similar to White Bird in a Blizzard, but instead about my life, and then I think I’ll be content in every aspect of my creative journey.
Until then, I’ll keep updating you through this publication.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
There are so many routes I could go with this prompt, but I think for humanities sake I’m going to take the honest one. What’s driving my creative journey? My desire to be seen, heard and understood, and my gut that has always told me that I am destined to do so.
So many artists have side stories or false missions or messages they’ve concocted to relieve them from just admitting that the urge to be seen is dominating their life’s trajectory. I think as an artist, it’s important to own the fact that we create to be known, and the goal is understanding. The mission is unity. I think my work creates a platform for people to engage on whatever topic I may have covered, and I think the idea that humans are connecting because of my artwork is my purpose in itself.
Of course I have dreams of working on big films with emotive soundtracks and top tier color grading and “Poor Things” level of costume designing. But my mission as an artist is to be historical for inventing a new way of looking at something. And currently, that thing is humans themselves and that’s pretty freaking cool to create. I can’t wait to know what you think.
