Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alessandra Eck. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alessandra, thanks for joining us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
I heavily depend on friends and family to support this wonderful program that enrichens people’s lives through healthy activity. I have the most wonderful friends a person could ever hope for. My friends provide help and exceptional continuity in operations and support by standing in as instructors and other activities when I need them. My family is understanding and provides support in the form of help, inspiration and love. Without friends and family, the program simply could not exist. I appreciate then every waking moment. Thank you all for making this a success.
Alessandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Originally, I’m from Naples, Italy. Italians are known to be passionate about their interests. At a young age I discovered a passion for dance. As time passed, I met a wonderful person and soon found an additional passion for raising a family that consumed most of my time for several years. My new passion required me to move with my husband in the U.S. Navy and take care of my children. The stress of learning new places, being left alone, and of motherhood required a lot of effort and left little time for anything else. As soon my children grew, and I had some time to myself I started to notice I was not in the same shape I was a few years before. I was attracted to fitness, in particular aerobics.
I decide it was time to focus on my health. I worked hard, ate healthier, and felt better about my image and decided to help others achieve their goals by becoming a Fitness Instructor. From there many doors opened for me. I was not just able to follow my passion but also to help other to achieve a better lifestyle. Through the years I instructed many fitness formats. I was featured in Fitness videos, tv and newspapers. (National and international) I was invited to perform in a Fitness convention in Hamburg, Germany. There I saw something a little different, a format called Fit4drums still in its infancy. I got hooked! After many months of collaboration with the innovator of Fit4drums I decided to register the trademark and bring it here to the States. The Fit4drums program has been featured at KUSI, Channel 6, Fox 5. It has also been showcased in a variety of settings from VIP mansion parties in Beverly Hills to local schools and broadcast live on Italian TV. I’ve been very active with community fundraisers, teaching classes for wonderful children at the” Therapeutic Recreation Center” and performing in the” Special Olympics in El Cajon “Send Off”.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I treat my clients like family. I stay in tuned with their needs. I talk to them frequently, organize events that foster good relationships.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Build an audience on social media is very simple!
1) KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE
identify your customers. In other words, who’s your target audience? What’s their demographic? Are they women, men, Baby Boomers, millennials? Remember different social media attract different users!
2) BE CONSISTENT
You have to be consistent with the postings for a social media platform in order to attract as much as possible.
3) CREATE A CONTEST
Create a weight loss contest and sharing the results can be very effective in grabbing the views attention.
4) GIVE YOUR FOLLOWERS A REASON TO FOLLOW YOU.
I ask myself: why would someone follow my page?
I don’t simply post generic images or videos; I tailor my content to my followers.
NOT ALL SOCIAL MEDIA ARE CREATED EQUAL
For example, I use Instagram or Twitter to share latest news and real-time alerts, On Facebook I tell more compelling, longer stories or facts about all the benefit that people can gain from attending my classes.
I also encourage my followers to tag other people who may benefit from or enjoy a specific post.
If I post an inspiring quote, I always “Tag a friend who needs this today”
