We caught up with the brilliant and insightful a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Alekzandr thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
It all goes back to my initial training in Massage Therapy. Such a universally practical skill, that few people know how to do. It elevated my quality of life to such an extent, I became intrigued by what other knowledge and skills remained undiscovered. I began to devour self-help books, workshops, and videos, piecing together the best I could find, and thus, The Stressor Professor was born. Now I teach these fundamentals on my website and YouTube channel, and am working on my first book
Alekzandr, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been a Massage Therapist for 15+ years, and I could be happy doing this the rest of my life, but I can help in more meaningful ways. People are suffering from things far worse than muscle knots, headaches, and injuries. Things like heart disease, diabetes, depression, and suicide.
I’ve suffered from suicidal thoughts myself, back when I first was trying to get a massage job. No one would hire me. I went 8 months with no luck, and felt totally useless. To look back on my utterly miserable self, and see how far I’ve come, with the help of great teachers like Tony Robbins and John DeMartini. I feel inspired to pay it forward. I don’t want anyone to have to go through such suffering if I can help it, but at the very least, I want to lift them out of it, as my heroes did for me
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely. The guiding question that led me on this path was, “What does humanity need most?”. I still believe that most of humanity is hurting because they don’t have certain fundamentals under control. It’s so easy to put the blame elsewhere, or think it’s something complex, when it’s often as simple as saying no to junk food, getting regular exercise, having a good restorative routine, or being mindful of your thoughts and habits
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Early on in my Massage career, I was working in the mall, doing chair massage for walk-ins. It was good money, but I wasn’t happy. The hours were long, and I wasn’t fond of my boss, who had accused me of stealing money. So, I took a 50% pay cut and transitioned over to Massage Envy. I lost buying power, but I gained quality of life. One of the best moves I ever made
