Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aleksandra Drecun. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Aleksandra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

My parents did countless things correctly. One was providing unconditional love. I know that I was loved deeply and could always rely on them for having my best interest at heart. They always put me first growing up and I know that I was deeply loved and cared for. They did the best they could to provide me with opportunities that would allow me to develop into my best version of myself. They supported my career, interests and continue to support my family and I.

Aleksandra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

What sets me apart is that I am holistic and integrative. I try to incorporate the biological, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of being human into my work. I integrate various theoretical orientations to best support my clients. Being human is difficult and fraught with struggle and suffering. My intention is to help individuals find purpose and meaning so that they can live a life filled with whole-heartedness and connection.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?

I think that what is most helpful for succeeding in one’s field outside of training/knowledge is connection. I think within any industry particularly mine, it is about building relationships and trust with others. When we build relationships and establish rapport, we can have more positive impact in the services or products we provide. When individuals feel genuinely cared for they are more open to input from others which provides them with a larger perspective that allows them to find the answers they need to live their best life.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
