We recently connected with Alejandro Ramírez and have shared our conversation below.
Alejandro, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Before creating oe architect, I was working in a landscape studio, there I learned a lot of what I now apply, I tell you because at that time I was project coordinator and 2 of the emblematic projects won the Mexican architecture biennial, in 2016 & 2018 was something incredible since, in the end, it is good to know that you are congratulated for your work.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Alejandro Ramírez, an architect who is passionate about design, in recent years I have had the joy of designing ephemeral spaces, in Spain, 2 have already been built, and in various parts of the world conceptual ideas have been worked on, I have also had the invitation from Mexico City to design a space in the Chapultepec forest, we also have 2 projects on the horizon that are still waiting, however, I am part of the head of this team but I have worked hard with collaborators from Spain , and Peru, with them we have realized ideas and even participated in conferences, in the latter we were a jury for a private university, one of the most important in Mexico, we always offer the best in terms of design, and we resolve even the last detail, but all this is a process several years ago, and you can search for us on networks as oe architect.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
It is a very interesting question, in the past we believe we know everything, but what we do not know is that life makes you see further and improve, something that I would take away is not reviewing the projects and sending them, I think it is good to always give a review before proceed.

Have you ever had to pivot?
As I mentioned before, I worked in an office where I learned a lot but there came a point or time when I personally was no longer growing and I was stuck in my design method, I had to think for a couple of weeks to be able to get out of there and look for something better, no. I say that it was not bad in the studio but what I aspired to at that time the office did not give me, so I had to quit and think about myself, as the months went by I founded oe architect, and it was a very very decision at the beginning. difficult and complicated but now I believe that it was the best decision in my professional career.
