We were lucky to catch up with Aldi Essandjo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Aldi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.

Stepping into everything I am operating in now was the biggest risk. Everything you carry within you will require tremendous faith and trust in God, for you to walk into. But the keyword is to “walk.” As long as you’re willing to do the walking, no matter what you cannot see, everything you know is in you will be fully brought to life. So, walk!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am an author, counselor, advisor, mentor, global speaker and pastor of Covenant Christian Church in Dallas, TX. Authored 12 books and offer counseling for marriages, individuals and families. I’ve seen much reconciliation in families ever since I began. This year marks my 13th year in ministry and purpose. A lot of leaders, ministers and entrepreneurs have also been birthed through the many endeavors God has graced me to begin. Hundreds, actually.

I’ve also seen so many miracles, including over 25 miracle babies born, even after doctors said otherwise! Tumors and cancers have disappeared so I’m thankful!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

One of the greatest lessons I’ve had to unlearn is to never be stuck on your mentality and way of thinking. In fact, do not settle for what and who looks like you. It is an amazing thing to cater and honor those of your background. It’s a blessing! But you’re not called to only provide solutions to those who look like you, especially because we all share the same “red” blood. Once you’ve learned this as a leader, you can be extremely key efficient to humanity. Whatever God has placed in you, is for the world. So, provide the solution. But only leaders think as such.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Resilience and healing. These are things that have helped shape my calling and endeavors. No matter the obstacles, if you remember the outcome of the calling upon your life, you will always have a “why.” Furthermore, healing is important to serve others. Otherwise, you won’t serve them. You will use them because your heart still needs healing. Without healing, there is no true service. Only your desires.
