Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alaysia Joi Hicks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alaysia , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
Growing up, I wish there had been more resources for understanding yourself on a deeper level. In school, there’s so much pressure to become something, but no real guidance on where to start. If I could change anything, it would be the classes and resources available that truly help students explore what they want to do in life after graduation.
When I graduated in 2016, I had to completely rewire my mindset. I had spent years following a path that wasn’t truly mine. Throughout school, I identified as a performer and a dancer in the marching band. It was the highlight of my life and taught me discipline, commitment, and teamwork. I thrived in that competitive space, pushing myself while working toward a shared goal.
But after high school, I found myself lost and unsure of my next steps. That’s when my real journey began, one of self-discovery, breaking old patterns, and intentionally creating a life I love and deserve.

Alaysia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Alaysia Joi, a multi-passionate creative who thrives at the intersection of beauty, wellness, content creation, and immersive experiences. My journey hasn’t been a straight path, but that’s what makes it unique. I’ve always loved creativity and self-expression, but after high school, I struggled to figure out what my path was supposed to be. Over time, I realized I didn’t have to choose just one thing, I could build a career that embraced everything I’m passionate about.
I started as a model in the beauty industry, which opened doors for me to step into spaces that celebrate confidence and individuality. From there, I got into content creation, sharing beauty, lifestyle, and wellness content that encourages people to show up as their best selves. I also curate events that bring multi-passionate creatives together, creating a space for community, inspiration, and clarity. Through my brand, I offer digital products like Notion templates that help creatives stay organized and bring structure to their ideas.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with strategy. I know what it’s like to have so many passions but not know how to turn them into something tangible. My work is about more than just aesthetics or organization.. it’s about empowerment, self-discovery, and creating spaces where people feel seen and supported.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built. I know what it’s like to feel lost, and now I get to create spaces where people can explore who they are without pressure or limitations. My goal is to inspire others to embrace their unique paths, trust their creative instincts, and build lives that feel aligned and fulfilling.
For anyone following my journey, I want them to know that I’m not just here to create. I’m here to share, uplift, and remind people that their passions are valid and worth pursuing. Whether through my content, events, or digital tools, my mission is to help people turn their creative chaos into something beautiful and intentional!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience has been the foundation of my journey. As a creative, I’ve had to pivot more times than I can count. I’ve worked with companies that paid me pennies while expecting full-scale productions, forcing me to get resourceful and learn how to create high-quality work with little to no budget. I poured everything into my career, building my life in my own apartment, feeling like I was finally stepping into my moment. Then, at the height of my career, I had to make one of the hardest decisions—I moved back home.
At first, it felt like I was moving backward. I had built so much, and suddenly, I was uprooting everything. But in reality, I was exactly where I needed to be. Moving home allowed me to spend more time with my family and receive the support I didn’t even realize I needed. Even while navigating that transition, I stayed booked and busy, proving to myself that success isn’t tied to a specific location or timeline.
That experience taught me that resilience isn’t just about pushing through challenges. It’s about trusting that even in the moments that feel like setbacks, you’re still moving forward. I’ve learned to embrace every shift, knowing that each one is leading me to something greater.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The driving force behind my creative journey is the desire to inspire and empower multi-passionate creatives to embrace every part of who they are. For so long, I felt like I had to fit into one box or choose just one path, but I’ve learned that my ability to do many things is my greatest strength. Now, my mission is to show others that they don’t have to limit themselves either.
Through my work, whether it’s modeling, content creation, event curation, or digital products, I want to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and confident in their own journeys. I want them to know that success isn’t about following a traditional path but about building a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
More than anything, I want to be a reminder that you don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward. You just have to trust yourself, stay open to the journey, and create with intention. That’s what drives me every day.
