Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alan Gonzalez . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alan , thanks for joining us today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I am really proud and happy to be able to do what ai am able to do as a Creative/Artist. I thank God everyday for allowing Him to take me into rooms where other like-minded creatives excel & I also couldn’t do it without the huge support group I have; rooting for me!
When I first started out, of course I had a regular 9-5 job but I am very much blessed and couldn’t imagine myself going back to that.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Alan Gonzalez Jr. and i am a LA based Celebrity Makeup Artist. I do both beauty and special fx. I find myself enjoying my craft when I am able to be fully creative & create crazy characters/monsters. I make my own foam latex/silicone prosthetics for my special fx gigs. If God allows, I’ll be pushing out my prosthetic company in the near future so stay tuned ;)
I am very grateful and proud to be working with great people & other creatives and am excited to show you what I have been working on.
To my fellow creatives/artists/entrepreneurs/business owners, just know to never give up on your dreams, anything & everything is possible. Always strive to be the better version of yourself & remember that no one else is in competition with you. You are your own person and there is room for everyone to eat at the table! <3

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect for me as an artist is being able to inspire other fellow artist & helping other creatives bring their ideas to life!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I definitely struggled a lot with comparing myself to other artists when i first started. I had to learn that we are all not the same and we each bring something different to the table. I also had to learn that I don’t know everything and it’s okay to learn something new and ask for help. Cuz if you’re not learning, you’re not growing, mmmkay!!!
