Aktuğ, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
At first i learn photography from analysing other photographer’s work of art. Also practice every single day back in the day. After some time i worked as a assistant for various notable photographer’s that i admire. I think most essential skill is exacuting the process smoothly, communication wise and also photography wise. Time is the problem of learing more because to learn something someone need to have patience so that they can learn and more.
Aktuğ, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello there, it’s Aktuğ, currently living and working in Istanbul. I’m 22 right now and started photography like 3 years ago and working for freelance for like 2 years. My photography started as a hobby and day by day it became my profession. Even though i graduated by the degree of American Culture and Literature persuing photography was the way of being myself. As a professional i do Fashion / Editorial / Still life photography, i generally solve the visionary problems of the brands and through that process i add my characteristic style and vision to the results. I think notable thing that sets me apart from the other photographers is they way i use color and also combining landscape/nature photography into fashion. When i’m thinking about framing i’m thinking as a landscape photograher and combine the fashion aspects to it. I want to express my feelings into framing, while shooting someone can see my joy of doing my work and when you look back to photos you can feel something you can express your inner emotions.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being photographer is working with clients that i’ve never dreamed of and seeing my work liked by the people that i admire as creatives. Also working with people i look up to.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My current goal is to work with some of the notable brands that are worldwide known, other than that is to be represented by Artist agencies.
