We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Akilah Divine a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Akilah , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was creating a space that is intentional for myself and other artists to develop skills, connect with others, and share talents publicly. Visionary Live Studios,LLC is a dedicated space that encourages dynamic and innovative collaboration through unique experiences. I created what I needed and what so many other artists needed. Artists of all disciplines need a low-cost, safe creative space that supports them, a space that accommodates their needs and wants, a space where they feel welcomed to allow their dreams and passions to roam free. Visionary Live Studios is the answer to that need.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is sharing my gift with the world. Knowing that what I have to say matters and it may help or inspire someone else.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I had to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. In the beginning, walking up to people that I didn’t know was always uncomfortable at first, but the more I practiced and moved through it, the easier it became. I built my social media by creating real connections with people. Authenticity always remained in my interactions and engagements with others.
