We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Akashic Bec a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Akashic, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
As someone who felt a sense of disempowerment for much of their life, a big part of my mission is helping clients regain a sense of empowerment and learning to stand in their truth. This may look different for everyone, but I think a crucial part of the journey back to that is by gaining an understanding of the self. Your purpose, your gifts, your soul’s journey. I like to call it your soul’s blueprint. When you’re trying to build a house, you have to clear and level the lot your house goes in. That’s where I like to begin- removing anything that’s causing stagnation in your healing journey- outdated mindsets, projections, trauma stored in the body, energetic connections, trapped emotions. The foundation is the decision to build on truth- your truth. The house is you- your qualities, gifts, personality, previous lifetimes, needs and desires. I recommend to my clients to give themselves grace throughout the process of coming back to self because we’ve lived in a world that’s told us who we are until the moment we decide to reclaim ourselves. It can be difficult to deconstruct those patterns! My personal journey has been one of breaking strong co-dependent ties with others and trying to dim myself down in order to make others feel more comfortable. I had to deconstruct the personal beliefs I carried about myself and realize the answers I was seeking lie within.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Since I can remember, I have always been acutely aware of other’s energy and emotions, even before I understood energetics. I’ve always identified as a sensitive person. Others made me feel embarrassed for being sensitive or that it made me weak. However, I realized over time that these are actually my strength! Through cultivating a strong awareness of self, studying the nature of energetics, psychology, relationship dynamics, and deepening into my intuitive gifts, I realized that I could help others gain their own awareness as well as connect with their team of Guides who are always in support of our efforts. Everything that I’ve built has been because I believed in myself despite the conditioning I was subject to. My life long interest in esoteric knowledge was no longer a morbid curiosity but a lifelong quest to delving deeper into the essence of humanity. My offerings are as follows: I’m a certified Akashic Records Reader – which is the story of your soul – a collection of your past life, present life and potential for the future. I am able to see where you are in your current cycle, your gifts, your purposes (you have more than one!), your connections to others, and so much more. I’m a certified Numerologist- your personal numerology is much like astrology in that am able to hone in on your specific numeric signatures to help you plan for your current and future self. I’m a certified hypnotherapist, reiki healer, as well as an emotion code practitioner. I’m able to clear stagnant energy, residual emotions, and areas of suppression/pressure (which can also help relieve physical alignments in some cases.)
Many people are skeptical especially working with practitioners like me for the first time, and I always welcome skepticism! That let’s me know that your ego is doing it’s job of protecting you from perceived threats. I encourage anyone who is curious about these things to do your own research, work with people who come recommended and who don’t claim to know it all. It’s all subject to your personal interruption. Come in with an open mind!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I would say that providing consistent quality in my sessions and remaining compassionate as well as professional has been the key to growing my business. Much of my business comes from word of mouth, and I have a steady stream of repeat clients. But I think what is most important is consent- people often have come from traumatic backgrounds and it’s super important to be mindful of their comfort levels. Respect is imperative in every aspect of business no matter what it is.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the lie that healers aren’t allowed to have personal and professional boundaries! When you’re in a profession where you have to be compassionate and empathetic, there’s the misconception that the practitioners have to be a revolving door, available at all times to be of support. But spiritual practitioners are people too, and they are allowed to have compassion AND boundaries. Many of us have families and other responsibilities, plus we aren’t machines, we have to self care in order to continue to provide the level of care that we do. When I first opened my business I had a few clients calling me at all hours or wanting me to stop everything to tend to them. I was very overwhelmed. But I realized that it was up to me to create these boundaries and maintain them. Once I established those boundaries, most were very understanding and respectful for which I was grateful.
