We caught up with the brilliant and insightful A’jay Love a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

A’Jay, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

I always knew that God had a calling for my life. When I started on my social media journey, I had already faced many personal trials and tribulations while coming into my truth. I understood it would not be easy; nevertheless, I was determined to make a difference with my story, one that would inspire and spark change.

Life is a journey, and each of us has a unique path to follow. My story is a testament to the power of faith, the strength of resilience, and the beauty of living authentically. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can inspire others to find their purpose, embrace their truth, and live a life filled with gratitude and joy.

Through it all, I am a proud LGBTQIA+ motivational speaker, influencer, model, and father. As I reflect on the journey traveled, I am humbled by the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. Life has taught me many valuable lessons, but above all else, it has shown me the significance of prayer, patience and forgiveness.

A’Jay, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

It is a blessing to be asked to share. My name is A’Jay, a rising transgender content creator, dedicated to delivering relatable content. From lifestyle to fatherhood and more, I really enjoy being in-tune with my audience. Two years ago, I started on TikTok with the aspiration of making a significant impact on social media. With determination and the need for meaningful, vibrant conversations, I have obtained a substantial following and encountered various opportunities.

In addition to my social media success, I have been featured on notable podcasts, established a foundation supporting those in recovery, and had the privilege of appearing on the anticipated show, TransWorld, Season 2. I am very blessed and dedicated to breaking barriers which includes redefining LGBTQIA+ standards in the industry by staying true to myself.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

It is an ongoing mission to set the best example for my son, while emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and diversification. I believe it is essential to allow children to express their opinions, whether favorable or unfavorable, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community. Not every parent is fortunate enough to have such support, but it is important to remember that, during a transition, children should receive counseling from a young age to understand the process also. Children, along with other family members and friends who provide support, are also undergoing a transition. I am fortunate to have my son as my biggest supporter and to be surrounded by remarkable individuals who genuinely love and support me.

My brother RW, who has served in the military for over 15 years, has always shown support when others doubted me. Along with him, Papa J and Mama D, who I am blessed to call Aunt and Uncle, have been significant influences in my life. They provided guidance and support during difficult times, offering advice and assistance whenever needed. Lastly, my family and loved ones will always be a never-ending reason for me to succeed. They never gave up on my dreams, as wild as they may have seemed at times. Their roles in my life have provided me with direction in facing life’s challenges. Their guidance has been invaluable in shaping the man that I have become today.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.

People may criticize the LGBTQIA+ community, but it is important to remember that everyone has the right to be themselves. Understanding and accepting oneself is an imperative aspect for your well-being. Life should be a focus on spreading love, offering help, motivating others, and encouraging personal growth. It is essential to remain true to yourself in all that you do.
