We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aja Campbell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aja below.
Aja, appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
As a business owner it’s always scary to go out and leave your regular life behind and when I say regular i men your safety net having something to Fall back on like a regular job. It was always scary to take a risk especially living in Los Angeles. I always thought to myself if I don’t take the risk I’ll be stuck in a spot and depressed but if I take the risk it can go either way. You could win or you could fail, and even with failing I don’t count that as failure I count that as lessons in to not to do something a certain way. I’ve started a food truck and it failed due to wiring issues, staff wasn’t reliable enough it became crazy but I realized those were things I can’t control, but being back up and out realizing that I have a space to create something special give people what they want as well as give them an experience. Taking risk doesn’t always mean you will fail or even win but it does give you lessons that are amazing for you. I’ve received many blessings as far as working on movies after that shows, catering weddings and more.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
My business was funded at the beginning was just me hustling working 2 – 3 jobs and just trying to figure it out. Later on after name got out I booked movies and more events that helped fund the business but honestly the biggest Thank you I owe to is my Mentor. Mr. Rambo has assisted me in so many things financially as well as given me knowledge that was so necessary for maintaining a business as well as business relationships in this industry.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest lesson I had to learn is to not be so giving and so trusting. You can’t always trust people in the industry because they don’t always have your best interest. Also you can’t be so cold hearted where you treat people a certain way you just need to pay attention to signs that you know don’t sit well with you and make your decision from that.
