Today, we’d like to introduce you to AJ Foxx. AJ was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Chanel Berumen.
Hi AJ, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I feel like I’ve found my perfect match in my career. Ever since I was little, the sight of streets morphing into bustling hubs of tents and vendors would send waves of excitement through me. I was the kid who knew a guy who knew a girl for just about anything, and connecting people was my kind of fun. Interestingly enough, I ventured into dental assisting after school and spent a good four years in the field, navigating through various roles. But, there was always this itch for something more engaging, something that didn’t ask me to dial down my personality.
The world of event planning eventually called my name, first as a junior wedding assistant planner. Yet, it wasn’t long before I realized I craved to create rather than follow, leading me to strike out on my own. From wedding bells to brand ambassadorships, I dove headfirst into the event scene. Then came a turning point: I met Rufio. Together with AJ Ritual, they were the heartbeat of these incredible 2nd Friday events at Tracks/Reelworks. When Rufio needed a vendor manager, I jumped at the opportunity, and what started as a single event blossomed into nearly four years of creating experiences with some of Denver’s most dynamic event mavens.
Managing vendors, coordinating events, witnessing the community thrive — it’s been a whirlwind of fulfillment. Every year feels like a new chapter of growth and excitement, and I can’t help but look forward to the future with anticipation. It’s been an incredible journey, one that reassures me every day that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

Please tell us more about your brand, Sobremesa Creative Solutions
At Sobremesa Creative Solutions, we’re all about adding that special touch to Vendor Management, Event Coordination, On-Site Coordination, and giving a leg up to small businesses through savvy social media and content creation support. What really makes us stand out, I believe, is our knack for keeping things organized while staying open to new connections. For me, living authentically isn’t just a personal goal; it’s a professional mission. In my role, I get the unique opportunity to help others shine in their most genuine light too. The magic, though, is in the connections we forge along the way. It’s about the relationships that blossom, the networks that grow, and the collaborative spirit that drives us. And through it all, there’s a continuous journey of growth and improvement that keeps things fresh and exciting. At Sobremesa, we’re passionate about creating, connecting, and evolving, always with a sprinkle of creativity and a whole lot of heart.
Chanel Berumen has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Chanel and your experience with them.
Chanel and I were Facebook acquaintances long before destiny decided to have us meet at a photoshoot. It didn’t take us long to discover we were cut from the same quirky cloth, and just like that, a fast friendship was born. Together, we’ve navigated the worlds of events, brand ambassadorships, and lent our hands to uplifting small businesses. Over the years, as we’ve each carved our own entrepreneurial paths, we’ve found countless ways to flourish independently while always being there to cheer each other on. Our journey has been a blend of individual growth and mutual support, making every step along the way that much more rewarding.
