Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to AJ Chin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
AJ, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My parents own Jamaica Kitchen in Miami, FL. I used to run the restaurant for years before moving to Arizona. Understanding the hard work it takes and the sacrifice you have to give in order to run a successful small restaurant. I truly just want to support the small businesses in AZ, my new community. The goal is to experience great new foods and at the same time promote the businesses to the world so that everyone can visit and support these restaurants. Ever since Covid-19, many restaurants closed down and owners have been struggling. I just want to let mom and pops shops have another way to get found without costing them the amount of money they would have to pay to advertise.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have a background in video editing. So decided to put my love of food and video to the test. The brand is called SATURDAY FATURDAY. Every Saturday since 2015, my family has been going out to try a new restaurant. This was the day everyone had off of work and could all join in to try some new food! This led to Facebook posts of how greedy we were and showed off how much we ate. I tagged every post Saturday Faturday (FATURDAYYYY) #saturdayfaturday with tons of pictures of the foods eaten throughout multiple local Facebook groups! Randomly just writing that because we were definitely not getting skinnier eating so much on Saturdays! Saturday FATurday was born!
Now I go to local mom and pops shops to make content and post across all platforms. YouTube being our longest going channel. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok are also getting daily posts!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The journey is to be different. Making food videos with hype and happy music and energy. I like to show how happy I am eating.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My partners are my cousins. More like brothers. We all have regular jobs and decided to do this as a hobby. But at the same time sell our gear and have enough views and subs and followers. Where we can make some extra dinner money.
