We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aiyana Lewis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aiyana below.
Aiyana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back on your career, have you ever worked with a great leader or boss? We’d love to hear about the experience and what you think made them such a great leader.
The best boss I have had would have to be myself. Throughout my journey as a creative, I have had the chance to interact with all different walks of life with mediums similar and even different from mine. In an environment where self-motivation and inspiration fuel our very well-being, it can be difficult to gauge how much I have achieved. But then I remember a conversation I had once with a former co-worker about ideal management styles. We agreed that our most effective management style is one that naturally encourages growth, leadership, and innovation.
Throughout my career, I have pushed so many boundaries and soared to new heights within my craft that I tend to forget how to transcribe my own achievements. Where I used to look at magazine covers and think “Oh that’s beautiful” I now look and listen to the fluttering of my imagination plan on how I would shoot it and then how I can shoot it better. Visuals throughout my everyday life have become stepping stones in my pursuit to hone and perfect my craft and that type of inspiration is something that comes about when you have strong leadership. Being my best boss isn’t just about being in charge of what I have done but nurturing and honing everything I create fueling my own cycle of inspiration and growth.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’d like to think of myself as unbound, but you can call me Aiyana. I am a Portrait Photographer & Editor based in Colorado Springs, Co, serving all Colorado cities.
I’ve always been interested in art and capturing the beauty of the world around me, so naturally, photography became a passion of mine. I started with a simple point-and-shoot camera and began experimenting with different compositions and lighting. As I learned more about the technical aspects of photography, My mom invested in a DSLR camera when I turned 12 and continued to refine my skills through practice and self-education.
I started building my portfolio by taking photos of friends and family, and then gradually expanded to more advanced Portrait Photography and creative shoots. As I gained more experience, I started networking with other photographers and attending photography events, and creating with other talented creators.
Eventually, I decided to turn my passion into a career and started offering my photography services to clients. It’s been an exciting journey so far, and I’m constantly challenging myself to improve my skills and create unique and impactful images. Photography has opened up so many doors for me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day.
I currently offer Portrait Photography Services such as birthday shoots, headshots, graduation, maternity, senior photos, etc. I also offer commercial photography for brands

The series also showcases how design can positively impact society, highlighting the role that design plays in solving complex problems and creating a more sustainable and equitable future.
The series can serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for aspiring designers and creatives. By showcasing the struggles and successes of some of the most innovative designers of our time, “Abstract” can offer a sense of possibility and encouragement for those seeking to break into the field of design.
Overall, “Abstract: The Art of Design” can influence creativity by offering an intimate look into the creative processes of some of the world’s most innovative designers and showcasing the ways in which design can have a positive impact on society.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
As a generation, there are several things we can do to best support artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem:
Buy and promote art: One of the best ways to support artists is to buy their art and promote their work to others. This can include attending exhibitions, purchasing art from independent artists, and sharing their work on social media.
Attend cultural events: Another way to support creatives is to attend cultural events such as concerts, theater performances, and film screenings. By attending these events, we can show our support for the artists and creatives who are making these experiences possible. My favorite cultural event to participate in is DearSummerFest; this event is the best way, in my opinion, to meet and connect with people of different cultures and indulge in art made by Colorado’s Local artists.
Volunteer our time and resources: We can also volunteer our time and resources to support artists and creatives. This can include helping with events, offering mentorship or other forms of support, or even providing access to studio or exhibition space.
Advocate for policies that support creatives: As citizens, we can also advocate for policies that support artists and creatives. This can include lobbying for increased funding for the arts, supporting fair compensation and copyright laws, and promoting policies that encourage cultural exchange and collaboration.
Foster a culture of creativity and innovation: Finally, we can help foster a culture of creativity and innovation by promoting curiosity, experimentation, and risk-taking. By valuing and encouraging creative thinking in all aspects of life, we can help ensure that the next generation of artists and creatives has the support they need to thrive.
Overall, there are many ways that our generation can support artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem. By actively engaging with and promoting the work of these individuals, we can help create a more vibrant and dynamic world for everyone.
