Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aislinn Evans. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aislinn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on has to be playing the lead role of Beatrice in Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” performed at the Gene Frankel Theatre in NYC this summer. This opportunity, directed by the renowned Thomas G. Waites and presented by Kelsey Grammer & Faith America, marked my NYC stage debut, making it incredibly special and significant for me.
I’ve always been drawn to the complexities and nuances of Shakespeare’s characters and the challenge his productions present to actors. Beatrice, in particular, has always resonated with me due to her wit, intelligence, and strength. When I learned about the auditions for this production, I was determined to give it my all, as it felt like a perfect alignment of my skills and aspirations.
Landing this role was a dream come true, not just because of the prestige associated with the production but also because it represented a significant milestone in my acting career. This was my chance to prove myself as a performer on a major stage in NYC. The production has been received exceptionally well by critics, which has been incredibly validating.
Deirdre Donovan of Offoff Online praised my performance, noting that “Both Evans’s smart and loyal Beatrice (the actress’s classical ballet training shows) and Ignatenko’s arrogant but likable Benedick are immensely entertaining as they banter…the actors get the love-hate chemistry between the two just right.” Additionally, Andrew Poretz for The Boulevardier highlighted that “Ms. Evans has the dazzling, luminescent glamour of an old-school star,” and Thinking Theater NYC described my Beatrice as “witty and charming in equal measure.”
Performing as Beatrice allowed me to explore and showcase my range as an actor, diving deep into her layered personality and bringing her to life on stage. It was an enriching and rewarding experience working with such a talented cast.
This project is particularly meaningful to me because it came at a time when I was seeking new challenges and opportunities to push my boundaries. It reaffirmed my love for the craft and my belief in the transformative power of theatre. The audience’s positive reception and the connections I made during this production have had a lasting impact on both my personal and professional life, solidifying this experience as one of the most cherished in my journey as an actor.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who may not know me, my name is Aislinn Evans, and I am an actor, dancer, and model based in NYC. My journey began with 16 years of dance training, leading to a BFA from Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco. After moving to NYC, I transitioned from dance to modeling and acting, and I’ve been fortunate to work on various TV, film, theater, and commercial projects, including portraying Phyllis McGuire in the upcoming Paramount+ series “Mafia Spies” and performing as Beatrice in “Much Ado About Nothing” at the Gene Frankel Theatre.
I also founded ProAct Studios to help actors enhance their social media presence, offering tiered packages for social media strategy training. Additionally, I’m launching the “Burnout Proof System” this summer to help actors create high-quality content efficiently.
What sets me apart from others is my diverse background and multifaceted skill set. My extensive dance training has given me a unique physicality and presence, while my experience in modeling has taught me how to work the camera and connect with audiences. As an actor, I bring a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to my roles, always striving to deliver authentic and compelling performances. Moreover, my expertise in social media allows me to guide other actors in navigating the digital landscape, helping them to build their brands and careers effectively.
I’m really proud of my versatility and how dedicated I am to my craft. One of my biggest dreams is to land a lead role in a feature film and secure a recurring character on a TV show. While I do enjoy hosting and modeling, my heart truly belongs to acting, and I’m always excited for new challenges and opportunities to grow.
To all my wonderful clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that I am incredibly hardworking and passionate about what I do. I bring a fun and positive energy to every set and am committed to delivering the best performance possible. Whether you’re looking for a talented actor, a creative content creator, or someone to guide you through the world of social media, I’m here to help you achieve your dreams, just like I’m chasing mine.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my view, society can best support artists and creatives by recognizing and investing in the arts as a vital component of a healthy, flourishing, and abundant society. Funding the arts isn’t just about supporting individual artists; it’s about fostering a thriving creative ecosystem that benefits everyone. When we invest in the arts, we’re investing in our culture, our communities, and our collective well-being.
A thriving artistic ecosystem is a sign of an abundant and thriving society. One that values creativity, expression, and innovation. It’s something we should all be proud to support because it enriches our lives in countless ways. Exposure to art and creative expression is essential for a well-rounded education, particularly for future innovators. Art encourages critical thinking, empathy, and the ability to see the world from different perspectives—skills that are invaluable in creating and shaping a better future for everyone.
By providing funding, creating opportunities for artists to showcase their work, and integrating arts education into our schools, we can ensure that creativity continues to thrive. Supporting the arts means supporting a thriving society where new ideas can flourish, where people can connect on a deeper level, and where the human spirit can be celebrated in all its diversity and richness.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building your audience on social media can be a game-changer for your career as a creative. It’s where you hold all the power to harness attention for your work without having to convince any gatekeepers. There’s an endless amount of social media advice out there, but a few key steps to help anyone are:
Be Consistent: Posting regularly is crucial. Develop a schedule that you can stick to and make sure you’re consistently sharing content. It’s better to stay consistent posting once a week than try to post five times a week and burn out after a month. Just like anything else worth doing, social media is a marathon, not a sprint.
Engage with Your Audience: Social media is a two-way street. You don’t want to “post and ghost” or post and then not engage with anyone. It’s SOCIAL media, after all. Respond to comments, engage in conversations, and show appreciation for your followers. Building a community around your work is just as important as the content you create.
Focus on Value-Forward Content: Make sure that each piece of content provides some sort of value to your audience. This can be in the form of education, inspiration, or entertainment. If your content doesn’t hit at least one of those things, is there really a reason someone should spend their time watching it? Make sure you are providing that value in each post.
Collaborate: Work with other creatives and influencers. Collaborations can introduce your work to new audiences and help you grow your following organically through cross-pollination. Cross-promote each other’s work to maximize your reach and inspire each other.
Stay Authentic: Authenticity is key. Share content that genuinely reflects who you are and what you care about. Your passion and personality will resonate with your audience and build a loyal following. Don’t hop on every trend you see just because it’s a trend. Stay true to what resonates with you, and you will resonate with your audience.
Analyze and Adapt: Pay attention to the type of content that resonates most with your audience and adjust your strategy accordingly. Use analytics to see what’s working better and do more of that.
Harnessing your social media presence as a creative gives you the power to connect with a wider audience, showcase your talents, and build a supportive community around your work. It puts the power in your hands and opens the door to untold opportunities.
