We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Aisha Taylor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Aisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with a hypothetical question – if it were up to you, what would you change about the school or education system to better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career?
I would start by changing the way that we test students by not having bias standardized testing. I would also ensure that we are meeting the needs of all students by preparing them for life not just college. All students will not attend college, however they should be prepared to be a productive citizen in society. I would do that back introducing more modern career technology education courses that appeal to today’s careers such as a social media influencer, gaming, etc…

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I fail into Education during the recession. It was no doubt in my mind that he opened that door for me to slide right it. Prior to entering into education I worked as a Paralegal. During the recession I begin freelancing as a paralegal because it was hard to find a permanent position. I wanted something more stable which is how I began my career in education.
It was truly God’s plan as I never desired to be a teacher. My father asked me, what about teaching? I though about the kids and said to myself hell no. Lol! Then I begin to entertain the idea and thought what would I want to teach? I begin to research and went on a few websites to look at positions. I came across a Criminal Justice teacher position at a high school. My bachelors is in Criminal Justice and I have a paralegal certificate so the rest was history. I simply called to inquire about the position, was called in for an interview, and hired without a teacher certification at the time. That’s how I know it was God’s plan for my life. I have been in love with what I do ever since!
After going through a really tough year in education, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to continue to do what I love. I began to think of ways to be innovative and to reclaim my passion for education. After much research in online businesses and being fascinated with the power of social media and its ability to reach people all over the world, Confidence Coach A. Taylor was born.
I learned the term Eduprenuer which is both an Educator and Entrepreneur. An Edupreneur lead with a 21st century mindset and is known globally inside and outside the classroom. It allows me to open up the movement of learning from one too many, from localized to global, from the past and present into the future all while making a profit. I have been in Education for 14 years and an Edupreneur for 3 years.
I am known for my uncanny ability to empower teachers and educational industry leaders to show up as their most confident selves, all while making a bold impact both in and out of the classroom
I am skilled at coaching professionals on how to maintain a resilient mindset and activate their emotional intelligence in a way that best serves students, staff, and colleagues.
No stranger to national platforms, Aisha’s confidence-boosting methods have landed her the keynote speaker spot at Lone Star College Tomball Fearless Grit Summit and the Propelcon Virtual Conference, featured on Fox 26 News and Black Educators Rock and more.
Nothing can compare to what I value and love the most which is showing educators and industry leaders how to unleash their inner greatness so they can do the same for their students. That passion led her to pen a book now available on Amazon titled, Faith. Fear. Resilience. How to Reclaim Your Education Life.
I do that by creating digital products, speaking, and coaching. I am free to creatively allocate resources and support leaders and teachers by meeting them where they are. Research shows that when you’re confident in your abilities it increases your success. I will continue to motivate and coach in a way proven to be successful by focusing on confidence.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
After losing my job for supposedly working on a state approved probationary principles certificate, I was on a mission and had something to prove to myself and others that wished for my down fall. I was determined to pass the Principal test this last time around. Besides I had taken it twelve times already. Gesh!
I had a battle of the minds with my emotions and mindset that already had a proven record of failure and doubt in it. I was already disappointed in myself and felt some type of way about not being able to pass this exam. I mean, I was already a principal for God sakes! Lord, why would you give me this job if this was not my path or your will? You have to know that I had to work daily to keep a positive mindset after all of these unfortunate events.
Sometimes our circumstances can cause one to have doubt in self, and God. Ohhhh but when I reflect back on how I started in Education (that’s too is a whole other story in itself), I refuse to believe he would let me drown. I had something to prove! I studied for hours. Daily! My daily routine consisted of early morning devotion, time with God always put me in a good positive headspace.
I did this same routine for months. It is important that you have a consistent routine of ways you affirm yourself everyday and remain in constant communication with God when your in place of doubt. This was a repeated routine for months. Then it happened! I finally passed the principal exam!!! Whoo hooo!!! I was soooo excited!!! I had finally overcome this huge cloud I felt was over my head. More importantly, I triumphed the doubt that tried to stay embedded in my mind. I ceased the moment!!! I realized what I was going through were defining moments that would affect the rest of my life, whether I succeeded or not. I had to give it my all and then I would be able to accept whatever the outcome.
I am just a true believer that everything works together for the good of those who love God, to those that are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). I had no choice but to leave my position after ten years. Nevertheless, I would not have know what an Edupreneur is nor that it existed at this day and age where it is thriving. Statistic shows that it has been a striking increase of online courses and e-learning in the last few years. People like to learn on their time and in the comfort of their own home. I’m here for it!
Now God has shown me how to use Education as a platform to get back into entrepreneurship, impact, serve, and use my gifts to do more of what he has called me to do. I passed the principal exam which lead to my next job as being a head principal of a charter school and learning how to be an Edupreneur.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Using my confidence boosting strategies that empower teachers and educational industry leaders to show up as their most confident selves, to make bold impacts.
My coaching and consulting practice was built on the belief that boosting the confidence and “can-do” attitude of teachers and educational professionals has a rippling, positive effect on how students learn and grow both personally and academically. The transformative results that educators and industry leaders achieve after working with me is proof of that belief.
