We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aisha Midgett. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aisha below.
Aisha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
For a long time, I chose safety.
Not because I lacked ambition. I’ve always had big dreams. But I was just trying to make it through. Showing up for everyone but myself. Giving and giving, while my own spirit stayed half-fed. Eventually, I realized I wasn’t just exhausted. I was disconnected from who I truly was.
What do you do when the life you’ve worked so hard to build no longer fits the woman you’re becoming?
For me, the answer didn’t come easy. I had to make a move that felt risky. The kind that forces you to reintroduce yourself to yourself. No map. No applause. Just a quiet decision to stop performing and start choosing me.
That decision changed everything.
I took a step back—from posting, from pushing, from trying to keep up with what I thought I had to do just to stay visible. I released the pressure to perform and gave myself space to be still. Not because I didn’t care, but because I cared too much to keep creating from a place that didn’t feel aligned.
And somewhere in the middle of that stillness, I heard God speak something gentle but undeniable:
You’re already her.
It was never about building a brand. It was about remembering who I am.
After sitting still for a long time, after unlearning, re-centering, and letting God do a work in me, The Rich Auntie Collection came back because I did. But this time, it returned with deeper clarity.
This brand isn’t just about products or aesthetics. It exists to remind women of their inner richness—the kind you carry in your spirit, not just in your style. It’s for the woman who’s learning to see herself the way God sees her. The one who’s survived the wilderness. The one who’s learning to stop waiting to become and start embracing who she already is.
The Rich Auntie Collection is for the woman who dares to remember her worth, even in the middle of the storm. Who holds on to joy, even when life feels uncertain. Who knows that being rich has less to do with money and more to do with peace, identity, and knowing who you are in God.
So yes, I made the decision to slow down when everything around me screamed for speed. I told the truth instead of pretending. I rebuilt not just my business, but my soul.
And I wouldn’t change a thing.
Because now I don’t just create products. I create reminders. I don’t just post affirmations. I speak healing. I don’t just run a brand. I live out my calling.
The biggest leap I ever took was betting on God. And through that, betting on myself.
That’s the kind of risk that transforms you.
And it’s the one I’ll never regret.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Aisha, and I’m the founder of
The Rich Auntie Collection—a lifestyle brand that was born from my personal journey of healing, faith, and learning to see myself the way God always has. I’m also a social worker, creative entrepreneur, writer, speaker, and a woman who’s lived through hard seasons and came out with more clarity, softness, and purpose.
I’ve spent the last 20 years working with vulnerable communities, showing up for others, and creating safe spaces through advocacy, social impact, and storytelling. But somewhere along the way, I realized I had to take a step back and reintroduce myself to myself. I was pouring into everyone but me, and it wasn’t until I gave myself permission to slow down, heal, and be still that everything began to shift. Internally and externally.
That pause became the foundation of The Rich Auntie Collection.
What started as a creative outlet during a hard season turned into a movement. A brand that reminds women they’re already rich. Not because of what they own, but because of who they are. We create faith-rooted products like affirmation workbooks, self-care journals, intentional lifestyle pieces, and messaging apparel that speak to the heart of the woman who’s reclaiming her worth, redefining abundance, and romanticizing her life from the inside out.
The Rich Auntie Collection is for the woman who’s been through some things. The one who’s tired of performing, tired of waiting to feel worthy, and finally ready to choose herself. We speak to women who are navigating transitions, who want to deepen their faith, and who desire to live richly. Spiritually. Emotionally. Mentally.
What sets us apart is that we’re not just selling products. We’re helping women reconnect with their truth. Everything we create is intentional. From the words we write to the designs we offer. Because we understand that healing isn’t surface level, and neither is confidence.
What I’m most proud of is that this brand is deeply personal. It’s not just about the aesthetics of being a rich auntie. It’s about embodying that energy in how you love, how you heal, how you walk in rooms, and how you hold space for yourself. It’s a lifestyle. A mindset. A reminder that even when life feels uncertain or overwhelming, you are still worthy. Still valuable. Still rich.
And if there’s one thing I’d want people to know about me and this brand, it’s that everything I create comes from a place of lived experience, faith, and a desire to help women remember who they are. You don’t have to wait to be her. You already are.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There was a season in my life where everything looked fine from the outside, but on the inside, I was running on empty.
I was showing up for everyone else, staying busy, doing what I thought I had to do just to keep going. But behind the scenes, I was tired in a way that rest couldn’t fix. I had lost touch with myself in the process of trying to hold everything together.
At some point, I realized I couldn’t keep going like that. So I made a quiet decision that changed everything. I stepped back.
I pressed pause on the business. I pulled away from the pressure to stay visible, to keep producing, to constantly pour out. Not because I didn’t care, but because I cared too much to keep creating from a place that no longer felt aligned.
In that space, I gave myself permission to reset. To listen to what I needed. To get honest about what was working and what wasn’t. And slowly, I began to feel something shift. I started coming back to myself.
That pause didn’t just give me clarity. It gave me direction.
And when I returned, I came back with more purpose, more softness, and more strength. That’s when The Rich Auntie Collection came back too, with a deeper message and a renewed mission. It became a reflection of the growth I experienced and a space to remind other women of their own.
Resilience, for me, isn’t just about pushing through. It’s about knowing when to pause. It’s about honoring your needs, shifting your pace, and choosing to rebuild in a way that feels true to who you are.
I define resilience now as the courage to come back home to yourself—clearer, stronger, and more committed to living in alignment with the life you deserve.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My audience didn’t grow because I followed trends. It grew when I stopped hiding.
In the beginning, I felt like I had to be polished all the time. I thought there was a “right” way to show up online. But everything shifted when I stopped trying to be what I thought people wanted and started being myself—fully and honestly.
In the last two and a half years, over 25,000 people found my content and stayed. Not because I had the most perfect posts or the most aesthetic feed, but because I was relatable. Because I was honest. Because I was human. Because I was me.
That growth wasn’t just about numbers. It was about building something meaningful. I didn’t just create a social media presence. I created a community. A space where women could feel understood, encouraged, and reminded of their worth.
If you’re just starting out, my advice is simple. Be honest. Be human. Be you.
People don’t follow perfection. They follow connection. And when you lead with who you really are, the right people will find you—and they’ll stay.
Keep showing up with intention. You never know who needs to hear your story, your voice, or your truth. Someone out there is waiting on your courage to help unlock their own.
