We were lucky to catch up with Aisha James recently and have shared our conversation below.
Aisha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name of my company’s journey started back in 2020, my baby brother Robert and I were in Largo, Florida visiting my grandparents, at the time my grandfather was ill. Robert made mention of ‘how fashionable I always was whether it was my sunglasses, outfits or just my overall aura when it came to being stylish. We discussed starting my brand and what that would look like, what would it represent about me and how I show up every day to the world, my family & myself. I started brainstorming a few after our trip and I decided to cultivate my brand with selling fashionable, inexpensive, stylish sunglasses for men, woman & children. The goal now was to name this brand, what would it be called???
That’s when I called my brother, and we started listing names, but I was very intentional with including my name in the brand to represent my journey. I then met with Kamal my brother’s friend/graphic designer over the next 2 weeks, and we decided to discuss my websites vision,
The vision is now called Aisha’sBlossoms.

Aisha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Philadelphia girl born and raised but now I’m a California girly! I relocated to Los Angeles, Ca in 2018 and the rest is history! My initial hotel career started in 2002 as a hotel operator then fast forwarded to 2025, I’m now thriving in Spa Operations. The hospitality industry has been my passion outside of my childhood dreams of modeling but that took a detour as I become a teenage mother at the age of 16 years old. Through the ears there’s been many challenges as I’ve had other daughter by the age of 25. The career path become very minimal as it wasn’t a goal any longer as I had to focus on being a mother while still raising myself, I didn’t know what that even looked like. My faith in God and always trusting his plan and journey for my life has helped me persevered through it all, knocking doors of the hospitality industry working and managing Front office operation, food and beverage and not limited to housekeeping management while traveling around the world to assist other hotel properties within my management group grow other leaders and train upcoming leaders.
My entrepreneur journey is still a current journey that I’m fining my way in. I’ve really never had experience win marketing or sales, so that’s been a struggle, I’m sure other entrepreneurs can agree with that as we have to be the photographer, salesperson, social media manager and packed orders! Imagine being all of this and a mother to an autistic 13- and 15-year-olds! The battle is not easy but it’s very rewarding as I get to witness them grow and prosper in life, sports and academics, along with my loving partner Kelie Griffin who is the bestest and cutest
bonus mommy!
My website has a variety of sunglasses and blue light frame glasses. Ranging from $5-$20 again my price point is based off what I see other similar brands selling as well. My brand is very unique, Id= do want to extend my brand with adding clothes & accessories to add my variety for everyday fashionable & stylish consumer.
I’m so proud of my journey as a teenage mom, overcoming childhood trauma, relocating and starting my whole life over! I’ve managed to still stay grounded in faith and not get distracted by the negative noise of the world in today’s climate. I don’t compare myself because there’s no one like me or my brand! Please keep up with my brand sand stay tuned as they’re changes and enhancements coming!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Most of the pivoting started within my hospitality career journey. Relocating from Philadelphia, Pa to Los Angeles, CA in 2018. My previous position as an Assistant General Manager was hard to leave as I we were facing some challenges within myself. Aer relocating to LA, it wasn’t easy getting back into the management realm of things as I didn’t have a steady work history in California, it really was a challenging time working at several properties under leaders that had more education than me, but their experience alone couldn’t touch my knowledge & experience overall in the hospitality industry. I’ve now been with same hotel brad for over 20 years and growing rapidly in the Spa operations department.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Motherhood is the journey that illustrates my resilience! I’ve been a mother for 27 years now and I’m approaching my 45th birthday in May, God Willing. With that being said, I’ve been a mother for half my life. I’ve had the blessing of growing, learning and raising my daughters while raising myself. The experience of motherhood is not for the weak or the strong it’s for the woman that doesn’t lose faith and recognizes giving up isn’t an option. I will say this “My crown has tipped and tumbled many of days and nights, bit it has never feel off”
