Aisa Spade, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
From a young age, my journey into artistry was almost inevitable. Music wasn’t just a backdrop; it was the very air I breathed. Born and raised in the birthplace of jazz, I found myself surrounded by the vibrant rhythms and soulful melodies that shaped my worldview. The very essence of music permeated my childhood, as I was immersed in a community alive with bands and local musicians, each note and lyric leaving a lasting imprint on my soul.
Growing up in this rich musical tapestry, I was groomed into the artist I am today. The influences that sparked my passion were a mosaic of genres and legends, blending the raw lyricism of hip-hop icons like 2Pac, Soulja Slim, Curren$y, UGK, The Hot Boys, and Master P with the smooth, seductive sounds of R&B greats like Frankie Beverly maze, Stevie Wonder, Isley, Brothers, earth, wind and fire K-Ci & JoJo, Maxwell, Ginuwine, Usher and more. Each artist represented a unique narrative that resonated deeply within me, igniting my own creative spirit.
Yet, my inspiration didn’t stop at Hip-Hop and R&B. The profound emotional depth of jazz and the heart-wrenching stories told through blues music also wove their way into my artistry. This diverse blend of influences has enriched my musical journey, forever shaping my sound and the stories I strive to tell through my music. It’s a testament to the power of community and culture, which continue to fuel my passion and ambition as an artist.
