We were lucky to catch up with Aimee Santana recently and have shared our conversation below.

Aimee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you manage your own social media?

I manage my own social media, I enjoy making my own content and making content for others.

Aimee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Aimee. Majority of people know me know me as Aimz. It was a childhood nickname name my cousin gave me. And it just stuck with everyone. My name Aimee means “beloved”. That’s how I came up with “BelovedAimz”. I do photography but I needed a page to just showcase and display my art so I created “BelovedAimz on Instagram as my safe space. Someone, now a dear friend, saw my post and that’s when I started thinking ok. I can maybe sale my art. I tested it out when I put a painting of mine on Facebook market. Let me tell you that was my first ever painting I sold. I wasn’t a fan of it. But her face lighted up when she saw it. She was in love with it. It made me so happy that she got a painting she was looking for her home. What sets me apart is I do everything with love and care. I love details and details are my specialty. The Problems I solve is I’m here to hear all your creative ideas and bring them to life. That is my favorite part of what I do. How people faces light up when the idea they had on a sketch on a napkin comes to life. And I was the one that was able to do that for them! That makes me so proud and honored I was there from the start.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Instagram is a game of “will you or will you not like it?” Today in age people don’t want to stay listening to a whole video they want quick and easy content that is relatable. Something to make them laughing to take break from their busy lifestyle. Reels right now is what people pay attention to now. Less then 60 video explaining or showcasing your message across. Best way to start making content is paying attention why did you get that following? Being interactive with the followers. So you can find your niche. Always, Always,Always stay true to yourself and not a character that will make you loose yourself. Find something your passionate about. That in the next few months you won’t get bored or tried of. Most importantly don’t let it take over your personal life. Your mental and physical health is important then followers . When you come off real others can tell. Social media is only 30-60 seconds of that moment in time. Schedule a day just for content and the others to create and get experience in life. It will reflect in your work.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Your life has more value then you think. When you realize your value . No one can try to be little you. I’ve had very close relationships that made me feel little. Even had me sticking up for myself less. I couldn’t vocalize what I wanted, afraid it would just upset people. So I stayed quite for some time. And it made me think I wasn’t enough. And that was very untrue. I was worth way more then what they thought.
