Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aimée & Celine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aimée & Celine, appreciate you joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
We give them flowers! At sort it out, we take pride in showing our gratitude to clients who welcome us into their spaces. During the organizing process, Aimée and I pay close attention to their aesthetic preferences, color schemes and layouts. As these large, multi-room projects near completion, we partner with Samano Flowers (@samano_flowers) to create a custom floral arrangement tailored to their style.
Inspired by thoughtful details like — “a beautiful, muted yellow living room” — Samano Flowers crafts a stunning bouquet that we present at the final walkthrough. It’s our way of saying thank you, celebrating the trust they’ve placed in us and honoring the transformation of their space.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
sort it out is a women-owned professional organizing business based in Los Angeles, founded by two best friends with 17 years of history and a natural knack for organizing. Honestly, the industry found us — before we even set up an LLC, friends, family and colleagues were begging us to help them declutter, de-stress and reclaim their spaces.
We’re most proud of our ability to connect with clients and demystify the organizing process. We take the burden off your shoulders, we like it and you’re going to like it too.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Aimée and I met in high school, introduced by a mutual friend in the hallway. During our first hangout, that same friend insisted I check out Aimée’s closet — and wow. It was color-coded, with every item folded as precisely as origami cranes. I nearly keeled over in awe. I instantly knew we were cut from the same cloth. I’d found a BFFL and eventual business partner.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
The same friend who introduced us, Claire, landed Aimée her first “official” organizing gig. I was still in Chicago at the time, so it’s fine that I wasn’t there — I wasn’t even that mad about it.
Anyway, Claire’s colleague was in full meltdown mode, practically on his knees, wailing about packing his entire house for a move. “I wish I could pay someone to do this,” he cried. “I hate it. I hate it so much I want to explode.” Claire, ever the hero, replied, “I’ve got a friend who’s addicted to this kind of thing. Let me hook you up.”
Aimée crushed the packing job so hard that he immediately hired her to unpack and organize his new house. She called me after, hyperventilating with joy. “You’re as obsessed with organizing as I am,” she said. “Get your f*ckin’ ass out to LA now. I’ve found our purpose.” The rest is history.
