We were lucky to catch up with Aidan Sowa recently and have shared our conversation below.
Aidan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I started my business after I worked with the MIT Enterprise Forum Cambridge. As part of my work, I did research on market trends. As a result, I learned that a lot of the marketing which was being used was outdated. As a result, 6 months later I started my own marketing company to offer marketing services. I was excited as I was the only person I knew offering these marketing services. At first, I was just offering lead generation services, however I soon changed the company to a public relations company which got me extremely excited as we have services no other companies have.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I offer PR related services, getting our clients on TV, Forbes and nearly every major news outlet. I help them establish themselves as leaders within their industry. I am most proud of a recent client of a mine who got a new office in the most expensive area in her city as a result of our work.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first started my business, I was faced with a customer who wanted a chargeback and I didn’t have enough money to cover it as I had already delivered his service. I called him up daily asking for him to take mercy on me as I was a new business. Eventually one day I had the idea of offering him a reactivation campaign and explained how it would help him generate a lot of business. When he understood the concept, he accepted the offer and my business never got a chargeback.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for my company is from advertising and referrals.
