Aida, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is a concept that is different for every person. Whether it means having a great career, a home or a family, success is something everyone strives to achieve. It makes you feel proud, it gives you excitement, and it lets you know you have made an impact in a competitive world. My formula for success has been to be positive, transparent, present and committed. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have 20 plus years under my belt.

Aida, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born in Mexico City and have lived in Miami for 20 years. I have honed her craft as a multicultural publicist over the last two decades. My vast experience with top-tier accounts gives me the edge to deliver exceptional results for a variety of clients. My greatest quality is that of giving the best attention to each project in which I am involved in, and I have an impeccable reputation with my colleagues, clients and the media.
I believe I was born communicator and my reputation for integrity and excellence has helped me develop lasting relationships with an extensive network of contacts in the media industry. My clients benefit not only from these connections, but also from my dedication, strategic vision and boutique agency approach.
I graduated from the University of Communication in Mexico City. I have been a member of the board of the Institute of Child and Family Health Inc. from 2008-2011; Femfessionals from 2009-2011; I was named Miami Publicist of the Year by Latino Leaders magazine in 2011 and a proud member of the PR, Marketing and Media Czars since 2014. I am also the Founder of Born From Our Souls since 2011. I am married to Stanley Phillips and we have a daughter named Milana.
My public relations career began in 1999 at Montemayor & Associates in San Antonio, Texas. Working with national brands such as Cerveza Corona, DaimlerChrysler, Kmart among others. Moving to Miami in June of 2002, to become the public relations director for Publicis Sanchez and Levitan in charge of public relations for Chivas Regal, BMW and other local clients. Then in 2004 I managed the office of Conexion PR Miami working with Ford Motor Company, Payless Shoe Source and Zubi Advertising. My last position with an advertising agency began in 2005 at Accent Marketing working with General Motors, Chivas Regal and Farmers insurance and I left in December 2008 after layoffs.
So in January 2009 I founded Aida Phillips PR and began my career as an Entrepreneur partnering with 4DiazVargas working on a national Hispanic campaign for Castrol Oil. That same year I signed on actors, singers and celebrities that I included in my portfolio. And in 2016, I have been working as an independent contractor with The Allen Lewis Agency as the lead the Hispanic market for Nissan, INFINITI, Zillow and GreenPath Financial Services.
In addition to her passion for public relations, I am an avid adoption advocate and founded the organization Born From Our Souls. Born From Our Souls guides and helps people through the adoption process for free.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I have always been very transparent and caring for each project and client I work with. I believe that what has helped me build a positive reputation is the attention to detail and garnering results. I have been very lucky to work with amazing clients, and they support my counseling and my suggestions for a successful campaign.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source for finding new clients is definitely my current clients, the media and friends that have believed in me. I am very grateful for the people that surround me, they are my number one fans, so I strive to be a better publicist with each new client.
