Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ahmadi Aydelott. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ahmadi, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My journey into entrepreneurship has always been intertwined with my passion for education. I excelled in school and found great joy in acquiring new knowledge. I never envisioned myself as a business owner; instead, I was driven by a profound desire to make a meaningful impact and create something truly innovative. Growing up in a family that emphasized the importance of education, I believed that my ability to learn quickly would lead to a successful career.
After school, I would return home to cook for my family. Cooking was a cherished activity we shared, and I can’t pinpoint exactly how I developed my culinary skills—it was simply a part of our family life. As I began sharing photos and videos of my culinary creations on social media, I received enthusiastic feedback that sparked my creativity. This encouragement inspired me to experiment with new flavor combinations and dishes. As demand grew and new customers began placing orders, I found myself overwhelmed by the volume of requests and the lack of a structured way to manage them.
My family suggested various paths—such as opening a restaurant or food truck —but none of those options resonated with me. Instead, I became increasingly interested in developing systems that aligned the mutual interests of consumers and operators. This sparked a transformative idea: to create a platform where everyone could enjoy quality food at a meaningful price—one that reflects the experience we provide—where employees genuinely appreciated their workplace, felt valued, and had the freedom to express their creativity.
At the same time, I faced the challenges of limited funding, particularly as I had just started college and came from a family without substantial financial resources. Despite this, I recognized that my culinary approach was distinctive, and the support I received was unparalleled. After much contemplation, I shifted my focus toward the burgeoning tech landscape. I committed myself to learning and surrounded myself with a network of individuals who believed in my vision. This dedication culminated in the creation of Madi’s Plates App, a platform designed to unite people and provide an exceptional experience.
My goal was to become a cornerstone of my community, particularly in the NY tri-state area, by building a company that benefits everyone involved and fosters a sense of value. My team and I consistently brainstormed ways to enhance our company and improve our app. Today, we have established ourselves as one of the largest—and, in my opinion, the most delightful—food apps in the NY tri-state area.

Ahmadi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I believe that true success is measured by the number of lives positively impacted by your existence. Everyone makes mistakes, but it’s our ability to overcome them that creates a compelling narrative. I often reflect on those who fall short of their goals simply because they lack self-belief. My greatest fear is witnessing untapped potential.
What distinguishes me from others isn’t about being unique; rather, I believe we all harbor remarkable ideas within us. My journey, shaped by the myriad experiences of my life, has allowed my vision to emerge. Through dedication and perseverance, I have turned that vision into a reality.
For those who may not yet know me, I want to emphasize that we are only beginning to explore the vast possibilities for our business. We are actively seeking individuals and resources that can help us scale and realize our full potential.
I would not be where I am today without the unwavering support of my family, friends, my customers, my Madi’s Plates App team, my faith, and, of course, my dogs. I have a passion for ice cream, a strong aversion to pickles and mayo, and I firmly believe that every endeavor is worthwhile as long as you’re enjoying the process, giving it your best, and maintaining genuine intentions.

Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
Throughout my journey, there have been countless moments when I felt on the brink of giving up. Despite my educational background, I had no experience in business, the food industry, or the tech sector. For a long time, I was a one-person operation—I handled everything from setting up and preparing to cooking, delivering, and cleaning. This relentless workload became physically and mentally exhausting.
There were times when I struggled to manage larger orders and ended up splurging on non-essentials, while other moments left me feeling lost during slow months when funds were tight. I had many fantastic ideas, but after discussing them with mentors, I often realized they weren’t as viable as I thought. All I had was faith in myself and the determination to keep pushing forward.
Every business has its near-death moments, and I often feel like I’m navigating one every day. As time progresses and the world evolves, it feels as though the pace of life is quickening, while I’m trying to keep up. My business is growing daily, but I sometimes struggle with the rate of that growth. Being an entrepreneur can be incredibly taxing. No matter how confident you are, it’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison or feel the weight of being a 25-year-old navigating a world that often feels directionless.
It’s natural to wonder what might have happened if I had chosen a different path or pursued another idea. I know exactly where I want to be, the life I aspire to lead, and the impact I want to make, yet it often feels like the journey is taking forever.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I engage in extensive on-the-ground work to connect with my clients. Being naturally sociable, I view fostering new relationships as a vital part of my mission. I prioritize supporting my clients in their businesses and celebrating their achievements, whether it’s through personalized messages, attending their events, or sharing their successes on social media. I find joy in participating in both social and professional gatherings, where I take the time to genuinely get to know my clients and understand their needs.
I welcome constructive criticism with grace, viewing it as an opportunity for growth. I believe that every piece of feedback is valuable, and I strive to continuously improve my services based on what I learn from my clients. Giving credit where it’s due is essential to me; I acknowledge the contributions of others and celebrate our collective achievements.
When I first began my journey, I believed that my personal integrity was the foundation of brand loyalty. My family instilled in me the understanding that people respect actions far more than words. If you wouldn’t act in a certain way publicly, then it shouldn’t be part of your private conduct either. They taught me that while mistakes can be forgiven, they are rarely forgotten, and that strangers can profoundly influence your life, making it imperative to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
Now that I have a team, I am committed to working alongside individuals who share these core values. I actively seek out team members who are dedicated to making a positive impact in the world, regardless of race, religion, or gender. I prioritize creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
Furthermore, I strive to maintain fairness in all decisions I make for the company. Transparency is crucial to building trust, so I never promise anything to a customer that I cannot deliver. This commitment to honesty and accountability has helped foster lasting relationships with our clients, ensuring they feel confident and supported in their interactions with us.
Ultimately, I believe that by cultivating genuine connections, prioritizing integrity, and embracing a culture of support and inclusivity, we can foster brand loyalty that transcends mere transactions and transforms our business into a trusted partner in our clients’ journeys.
