We caught up with the brilliant and insightful “Aether Candace” a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Aether Candace, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The Mission: To provide a non-judgmental space for people to learn more about themselves and the world around them while helping them facilitate their own healing and evolution.
People are more powerful and capable than they realize. They just need to be revealed and pointed in the right direction. Once they are revealed and taught, their inner compass – spirit will show them their right direction.
I researched and expanded on my gifts in the ’90s when the internet and communication were nowhere near it was today. I know what it’s like to feel isolated in thought and personal goals. Soul Trine is meant to be a place where people can work out various concerns in their life while also expanding on their abilities. The concerns we experience aren’t coincidences. They are lessons that we need to understand heal through and overcome. In the midst of chaos and healing, spiritual awakenings are happening. I know what it is like to go through these things alone as well as with the support of others who understand trauma as well as spirituality.
Over time I’ve acquired more healing modalities and training to help people heal and evolve. I do this to be able to support people through their healing and awakening journeys. The deeper mission is to have fewer people feel alone during such a big transformation.
Aether Candace, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am an Intuitive Performance Coach, author, Trauma Informed Coach, and energy healer of various modalities including multiple forms of Reiki. I have spent the majority of my life studying human potential and the impact our emotions have on our abilities and undoing. Today I have a business that focuses on protection, healing, and manifestation for evolution and ascension. It’s been around since 2015 and has had it’s own evolutionary experiences in name and purpose.
Today my business, Soul Trine, is a service-based business that offers metaphysical goods on a wholesale basis or for custom individual concerns. Today I only offer wholesale metaphysical goods. The team includes Madame Creatrix and Justine The Witch. We offer psychic readings, metaphysical coaching, and energy healing and will be expanding into more services soon. We assist people with creating better relationships with themselves, their businesses, and the people around them by helping them gain more access to and control of their intuitive and psychic gifts.
I’m proud of how far the company has come. Being able to bridge gaps for people as well as empower them is something I will always enjoy. I love seeing people on the path toward their best. Getting there is not easy for everyone all the time. I’ve tapped into some modalities and Divine techniques that allow people to get where they need to be and I am very proud of that.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best sources of new clients are events and word of mouth. Events always win because people can see you face to face and observe your energy to see if you vibe with them. Metaphysical businesses can be unique in that the clientele is seeking to observe how your energy vibes with theirs right away. This requires the metaphysical business owner to be in tune with themselves and their space. It all boils down to how you, your space, and your collateral make others feel and being okay with the fact that you won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, lemonade, or whiskey.
Because psychic and energy work are so personal, word of mouth is bound to spread. On one level people will not speak of your business in the same way they speak of their landscaper. They will only speak to people they feel are on the same wavelength with their feelings toward the metaphysical. and spirituality. When the client has a circle of friends that they can trust on that level, your name will spread like wildfire.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I use Shopify. I’ve been with Shopify for the past 4-5 years. I recently tried to switch to Square Online and I was right back to Shopify within weeks. In the beginning, the website was on WordPress. I have always done all the web work for my business. I taught myself how to build websites back in 2008. I had to get away from WordPress because I had website hacking trauma. The amount of money that it costs to properly secure a WordPress website is the same amount it costs to have Shopify for one year.
I have a few digital products on Etsy for a presence, but that’s it. I don’t plan on investing any time or energy into Etsy because I feel the market is oversaturated. I would have to purchase ads to be seen. If I need to spend money on ads, I might as well do it for my own website instead of Etsy. If I got deeper into it years ago, I would feel much better about it, but I’ve never made any revenue on Etsy that made staying there make sense.
The pros of Shopify are security, customer service, and organization. My website is unique to Shopify because it is service-based. I was having a concern with an app that helped me process my services through Shopify and that is why I left for Square. After connecting with Shopify through chat they helped me resolve my unique concerns and I brought my website right back to Shopify.
The only con for Shopify is the natural state of its blog. I recently moved my blog to Substack because Substack keeps expanding on features. The Shopify blog is bare bones. The apps available to take it to the level of WordPress are too expensive for what they offer. I’m a writer and content creator from two decades back so that is important to me.
