We recently connected with Aeon Cruz and have shared our conversation below.

Aeon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

I have always wanted to be an actress, since I was little and first watched the Disney Channel. I grew up taking theater classes and doing plays, but never really got encouraged by anyone to pursue my passions so I roamed aimlessly through life not really knowing what to do. It wasn’t until years later when I was playing music in a band and our manager asked me to be in a film project that sparked a whole renewed excitement and love for acting. It was at that moment in my life that I knew that’s what I had to do.

Aeon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I grew up as a performer and artist and went to art school to get my degree in visual art. But my creative entertainer side wanted more for me, so I joined my first band. My first professional entertainer job was as a bass player in a local band. I then got my first film role and started to seek out more acting roles. I worked for entertainment companies and performed at festivals and parties and took all the acting jobs I could get, even stuff like being a dancing robot at festivals and other random things that were very fun. Currently I’m filming Christmas movies and I work as a trade show host, entertaining and educating people on healthy eating!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Definitely being able to do what I love. Inspiring people. Expressing myself. Sharing my heart and soul. Having a body of work that I can look back on and see how I’ve grown and remember how I felt and what I was going through when I created it.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

I enjoy creating, and also want to be an inspiration to others. Hopefully inspire others and touch them in a way emotionally that helps them feel related to and not feel alone, help them through a rough time or inspire them to be brave and believe in themselves. I want to live life happy and enjoy moments with the people I love.
