We were lucky to catch up with Adrienne Tiller recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Adrienne thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope that my Legacy would be that I helped young women and women be true to themselves. To create products that will uplift, motivate and inspire them. I want people to remember that I had a big heart, active listener, prayer warrior and gave the best hugs.
Adrienne, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Accessories by Adrienne started off as a hobby turning into a business on paper in 2013. God gave me the idea to make jewelry out of buttons. Yep, like the buttons on your clothes. To be honest and transparent, it wasn’t until 2020 when I really focused on my business. The years before then is what I like to call a “hobby business”. Now, I am ready to take it to the next level and have it replace my full-time job. I’m excited to expand my stationary line, add new inspirational products, learn new things, and to bring back my first love, which was button jewelry.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
When I first started out, I created a Etsy shop, but never published it. Part was fear that I am really about to be a business owner and the other was the many fees. I personally do shop on Etsy and some of the successful business owners that I Iearn from have an Etsy shop and a website.
I currently have just my Shopify website. The current reason, I have not joined other platforms are the fees, owner rights and the regulations that some of these platforms require.
I am looking into things like Instagram shop and maybe in the future I will revisit the many platforms out there.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The Best source of new clients besides friends/family are Social Media and Vendor Events. Connecting with other business owners is another big source.
