We recently connected with ADRIANO IBIAPINA and have shared our conversation below.
ADRIANO, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Hello, my name is Adriano Ibiapina and I am CEO of Agib Distribution Brazilian Nail Cosmetics. It all started 2 years ago, when my wife started working as a manicurist with Brazilian techniques here in Florida, she asked me to buy professional products to replenish her stock. That’s when I realized that I couldn’t find it easily and when I found some items, the price was absurd! When talking with other girls who work in the same profession, I understood a difficulty they always faced and it made working in this area more difficult here in America. That’s when I decided to create Agib Distribution, Agib was born to make high quality professional products from Brazil possible and offers this sector accessibility to them! In addition to bringing products from renowned brands in Brazil and desired here in America, we add value by creating face-to-face events for Manicures and Nail Designers to acquire knowledge about products, techniques, Nail Marketing, Nail Finance, etc… sector that has a lot of demand and little recognition! It has been going so well that this year we will hold our first CONGRESS FOR BRAZILIAN MANICURES/NAILDESIGNERS IN AMERICA!! By the way, here is a tip for all professionals working in the market to join us on that day, which will be at the beginning of December this year! Today, our sales are concentrated via our ecommerce (www.agibdistribution.com) and we are also starting wholesale sales to beauty salons and Brazilian markets (initially), we have a team of representatives who will be visiting these businesses in person offering products and training to professionals! In August, we will launch AGIB PRIME, a member program where members will have access to discounts, free shipping nationwide, discounts on events and much more!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an entrepreneur in the area of cosmetics for Manicures and Nails Designers in the United States, however, we have plans to enter other sectors of Eyelashes, Eyebrows, etc… everything that involves professionals and quality products. Our differential is that we not only offer a product, but also deliver the protocol for it, that is, there is no point in buying a product and not knowing its benefits and harms, how to use it correctly and what is the limit for using that product. ! All of this we deliver at our face-to-face events!
We have a project called Instructoras Masters Agib, this project is summarized in partnerships with renowned professionals in each American state where we have girls who want to work with nails, but don’t know how to find courses and products. They are: Carla Fernandes Nails (Massachusetts), Nanda nails Arts (New Jersey), Soraya Sonoda Nails (South Carolina), Aline Marley Nails (Pennsylvania) and Natali Santos Nail Expert (Florida)! They are the ones who take courses, training and participate in Agib events and always using our products!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Being resilient is something every entrepreneur needs to have or learn to be! Since I arrived in the United States I had to work in Civil Construction and this is a job that demands a lot from a person! Every day, he arrived tired from a whole day of work in rain and sun, carrying ladders and material for the installation of Soffit. Knowing that when I got home, I still had to dedicate myself to my online business, preparing events and training, answering emails from suppliers, adjusting and putting together price, cost and investment spreadsheets… How many times did I think about giving up? NOT ONCE!!
because this is what will change my life and that of hundreds of professionals who have to work to take care of their families. It’s not easy, but it’s gratifying to read testimonials from my clients saying they thought about giving up and changing their profession because they couldn’t access the technical and motivational content like we deliver at our events! I often work from Sunday to Sunday and even on holidays like today (memorial day)! Resilience is for people who know what they want and who are willing to go through any obstacles and keep moving forward! So NEVER GIVE UP!

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
At the beginning of Agib, I didn’t have a lot of money to import products from Brazil, so I worked 2 weeks without days off in construction to get $1200 Free dollars, (that amount left over after paying all the house and car bills) this value was still little, so I continued working construction during the day and delivering food via app at night to be able to make some extra money. after 1 month reconciling the two jobs I got a good value to bring products! So I started sales through the website, however, without much publicity. I didn’t have that much money to invest in digital marketing and I didn’t even have enough health to work on both services again, so I had to take a risk! I missed two jobs in construction, I put my products in the car and went out to sell in Brazilian markets and beauty salons even without having any initial contact with the purchasing department of these companies. I went in the face and courage with my products in the car! You know what happened? I SELL OVER $3500 dollars in those two days! That’s when I understood that I was on the right track and that everything I went through to get my products was worth it!
