Alright, Adrianna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
It’s so funny to look back on my journey, when I first started TikTok it was for fun. I would have never thought I was going to be known on TikTok, even though I would always tell my friends I was going to be known on TikTok. Crazy, I thought I was going to be TikTok “famous” for dancing because at the time dancing was the wave, that’s what made a person “famous”. Side note, I can not dance so I don’t know what I was thinking. I had a goal and that was to get 10 thousand followers on TikTok and dancing was not doing it for me. I soon began to post food reviews and the people seemed to love it. Posting food videos made my views and followers increase. I soon learned about the Creator Fund, where creators can earn money for putting out content. I joined the Creator Fund just to see what I could earn, even though my views and followers were not where I wanted them to be. Months passed and I forgot I even joined the Creator Fund. I decided to check on my funds and surprisingly there was money in there, it was not much but it was enough! You mean to tell me all I have to do is eat and post about it and I could get paid, say less! Eating makes me happy and i’m glad I can make money doing it. It’s still crazy to me to see how a little money turned into a lot, I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
During 2020 I needed an excuse to get out of the house, so instead of cooking I would eat out. Ive always ate out and would post on my personal instagram the places I would go. Every time I posted I would get messages asking where I was and how the food was. I soon decided to make an instagram page strictly about food! While that was going great, a month passed by and I didn’t really gain the support I thought I was going to gain. During the pandemic, TikTok became one of the most popular apps used. At the time I was not going to download, but then one day I downloaded the app and started doing TikTok dances, again I can’t dance. So the dancing obviously didn’t work out , but I still wanted to put out content. I eventually started to post my food reviews. One thing led to another and now I have over 100 thousand supporters. I believe that my creativity and honesty is what sets me apart from the next person. My reviews are not like most and I really think people prefer the honesty that I give in every video. If it’s something I do not like I let it be known but I also let them know, just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean they won’t, so I tell them they should still check it out.
I am most proud of my 2020 self for actually getting up and starting TikTok and not putting it off to the side. I have a bad habit of coming up with ideas and seeing the visions but not actually following through. But that was 2020 me, 2023 me is putting my goals first and no longer putting stuff off.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience surprisingly wasn’t hard, yeah it took a couple months, but I wouldn’t say it was hard. With TikTok your videos can either be a hit or miss that’s why some people give up on TikTok. My advice to new creators is to post, post despite the amount of likes, despite the amount of views, JUST POST. You honestly never know what video will gain you followers or which video will go viral. You also have to be consistent, consistency is key.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to show people that there is so much more than fast food in Dallas. I love helping and supporting black owned businesses, with my post people can become aware of these smaller or black owned businesses. One post can change a person’s life As far as one of my goals, it might seem silly but, I really want to make a video with Gordon Ramsey. Multiple times I’ve been told I’m the Gordon Ramsey of TikTok food influencers and it’s not a bad thing it’s just that I’m very honest when it comes to my reviews. So if I could get him in a video that would be so dope!
