We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adriana Paola Palacios Luna. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adriana Paola below.
Adriana Paola, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Day to day the world can seem like a tough place, but there’s also so much kindness in the world and we think talking about that kindness helps spread it and make the world a nicer, kinder place. Can you share a story of a time when someone did something really kind for you?
In a world of violence and greed, I have been fortunate to have many people who, with multiple acts of kindness and sorority, have contributed to my life project, happiness, and to the work toward socio-environmental justice. A kind act can make a difference. The recognition of the otherness. The celebration of diversity. The trusting word, the sincere smile, the necessary community.
They have been mainly women, who with the right advice, the celebration of achievements, with the invitation to collaborate and support my work, it is possible to see how my business is growing. Luna Cultura, Art, Science, and Culture for Thriving Communities, has become a space for learning and collective healing. A space where creativity and fusion learning transcends and enables the collective creation of knowledge and wellness. The work for the common good based on our creative capacity and by celebrating diversity we build spaces of hope and change. It is from acts of kindness that I have received, and experienced, that inspire me to create them as well.
I have learned to be kind to myself and to others.
Guillermina’s strength and love, Atzin’s teachings and wonders, Verónica’s affection and support, Janet’s joy and confidence, my sons’ sparks, and the wisdom of the indigenous women with whom I have shared my story, and my feminist accomplices, are the driving force and inspiration of Luna Cultura.
Adriana Paola, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Luna Cultura, my business, is the expression and sum of dreams and years of concrete work for social and environmental justice. The services that I provide to the community are consulting and research from the equity lenses, and art, science, technology, culture, and family education training, where, as communities, we work collectively in the promotion of healthy and healing alternatives in life, by developing creativity, leadership, and the generation of collective knowledge, for equitable inclusion and diversity.
Our programs are culturally pertinent and committed to preventing and eradicating systemic violence. Promoting historical trauma healing, and strengthening personal and collective wellness.
We work with many partners and sister organizations like the Boulder Public Library, the Museum of Boulder, Natural Highs, Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence, Build a Better Book, and the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration, to mention some of them.
We are proud of being a welcoming and kind space, where community members find resources, information, and creativity. We work from a Fusion Learning standpoint, by combining ancestral knowledge and innovation.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience is a human quality that should not be necessary and yet it is fundamental in the life of people, of towns and communities, and of course in business.
In an uncertain economy, whose goals on a global scale seem to be focused on the deterioration and destruction of Mother Earth and on human exploitation, resilience is a key component for a socially responsible, environmentally committed business that allows obtaining the necessary profits to be economically sustainable and to provide the quality services that are needed in our society in current times.
A big challenge in my business is to keep services accessible to clients and become financially sustainable. Art has historically been undervalued, however, the capacity of art for the integral development of people and communities has also been demonstrated. Mental, physical, and spiritual health processes are frequently related to art and culture. Presenting the information in an appropriate, attractive, and interesting way to the community is a relevant element to community engagement, leadership development, and strengthening the work for social justice.
Being a single mother of two adorable sons and a beautiful daughter has been one of the main challenges I have had and a process full of learning, strengths, resilience, creativity, and love. This journey has allowed me to learn to navigate multiple systems, connect with resources and information, and trust in education and communication as strategic tools for processes of wellness, democracy, and equity.
I have always been a rebel with a cause, swimming against the stream and telling the story against the grain. This open and creative mindset is what has strengthened not only my personal and family history, but has also become the essence of my business. It is the engine that drives the unique and deeply meaningful programming that we include in all our classes and projects.
A process of resilience, based on education and collective learning, is integrated as an artistic framework interwoven with content deeply rooted in humanity and wellness. We work and commit with collective decolonial knowledge to promote and elevate decolonial epistemologies. So much resilience in all of these.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media has become a necessary strategy for all businesses, organizations, and institutions. I consider that social media can consume hours and have a limited effect. But at the same time, it is from integrating community connection strategies and through word of mouth that our message spreads and nourishes satisfactory experiences about the services we provide.
Social media and networking have become an extension of the daily act of welcoming our customers. Using various media, social media, telephone messaging, mailing lists, and the Luna Cultura podcast, Mosaicos Culturales, are some of the many forms that interact with clients and communities.
Social media has become another way to greet and invite, inform, and promote reflection and connectivity with customers. Never forgetting the direct connection.
The rest comes alone.
