We were lucky to catch up with Adriana Moron recently and have shared our conversation below.
Adriana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Yes, I am happy as a business owner, but it hasn’t always been easy. The thought of pursuing my educational career and the lure of a stress-free paycheck often cross my mind, especially when I talk to my parents. Initially, when I started my business, I didn’t have a stable clientele to cover my bills, which was stressful.
I also see friends with regular jobs achieving certain milestones more quickly, like getting approved for a house or enjoying paid time off without being tied to work emails. However, I’ve learned to appreciate the flexibility that comes with owning a business. I can have different daily schedules, which I truly value since I enjoy having the control of my time fully.
This flexibility is more important to me than traditional job benefits. While I might work until 2 AM sometimes, I can also sleep in until 11 AM when needed. My goal is to build a “vacation life” where my clients pay me well, so I don’t feel the need for PTO or a regular paycheck because I can provide these benefits for myself as part of my working life.
At the end, being a business owner gives me the time flexibility I desire, making it a rewarding experience despite the challenges.
Adriana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am originally from Maturin, Venezuela, and moved to the US at 17. I attended the University of Texas at Tyler, where I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before graduating, I started working in the Oil and Gas Industry, analyzing data for risk calculations and assessments on refinery equipment, pipes, storage tanks, and other assets.
During my time in the industry, I realized I wanted to do more than just analyze data—I wanted to be part of the leadership team. However, I lacked effective communication skills, so I decided to switch careers and joined a sales team at Fortune 500 companies. There, I learned to relate to people, solve business problems, negotiate, and build lasting relationships based on trust.
I discovered that my data analytics skills were highly applicable to sales. Understanding both data and people allowed me to see the significant impact this combination can have on business growth. After a few years, I decided to leverage these skills in the digital world, aiming to help small and mid-sized businesses achieve a steady and growing income stream.
As a business owner, I understand the fluctuations in business—times of prosperity and times of challenge. My goal is to help businesses maintain a steady cash flow by creating a strong digital foundation driven by data and a customer-centric strategy.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I have invested zero in paid ads. Many people have asked how I managed to double my revenue without spending on ads, and the answer is simple: being willing to serve the community. Instead of putting money into paid advertising, I decided to invest my time and effort into making a positive impact on the businesses around me.
This approach has allowed people close to me to witness my skills, value, and worth firsthand. One of my clients was so impressed that she even offered to pay more for a service I provided because she recognized the true value of my work. This has been the most effective marketing strategy for my business.
I share this strategy with other business owners and clients, though some prefer to invest their money elsewhere. For me, choosing to serve my community abundantly with my talents and gifts has proven to be incredibly successful.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I decided to switch from the Oil and Gas industry to sales, I took a significant pay cut. I went from receiving a substantial paycheck every week to earning a 100% commission salary in an industry I knew nothing about. This was a huge challenge.
Opening my office in Hollywood, Florida, also brought personal challenges. My relationships were strained, nearly at a breaking point. I faced a tough decision: risk losing either my personal life or my career. Many people I spoke with at that time didn’t have strong relationships with their spouses, kids, or family members; they were all focused on their businesses. The common advice I received was to “keep going.” But deep down, I knew that wouldn’t make me happy.
So, my husband and I decided to take a step back. We sold everything we had and traveled for three months across the US in our jeep, camping. Financially, it was a risky move; we had no income only our savings and some money coming in from investments, no house, and no business at that point. But we needed to see if our marriage would work. We both committed to that experience.
Afterward, building a business was challenging, but we emerged stronger than before.
