We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adriana Eberhardt a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adriana, appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I graduated in 2012 from the College of Healthcare Professionals. I started right away at a Massage chain. I worked for them for 2 years. For those two years I would spend 8hr shifts working on clients and also waiting on walk-in’s to come in. Sometimes we would work on 6 to 7 people a day. Having to really ask for our breaks. We would only make so much while the company was taking most of the profit. For some people it’s ok and it’s easier for them because they don’t have to worry about advertising or getting a client base themselves. The company handles that. I then went on to another Spa. The same situation really. Work all day do chores around the spa. Like washing sheets and cleaning the rooms and bathroom. Having the option to get paid hourly or get paid depending on how many clients you had. I stayed at the new spa for over a year but I was getting tired of the same old routine. I wanted more out of my career and life. I knew I deserved more. So that’s when I made the leap of faith to quit this job and go out on my own to become a business owner. I reached out to other businesses to see if they would be interested in me setting up and doing chair massages and table massages at vendor events and customer appreciation events. I got a few spots at different gyms. I would go and set up and offer 5 min massages so that people could try me out and I could get my name out there. I found a place to rent a room and work out of there. I stayed with them for a few years. Was able to make a name for myself and get people to recognize my work and passion for helping people. I started getting referrals and I wasn’t having to advertise anymore. It was all word of mouth from then on. I was able to make my own hours and charge my own price for my services. I was free and not having to answer to anyone else really. Now after a few years. I have my own studio. I was able to walk away from a corporate setting because of my hard work and dedication and my drive to not give up and when times got rough. I just kept going and believing in myself and trusting the process of success. From here on out it’s all about growth and being open for possibilities

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Adriana, and I’m a massage therapist and energy worker with a deep passion for helping people release stress, clear negative energy, and feel lighter both physically and emotionally.
I’ve been in the massage industry for 13 years now, and I recently transitioned from working in a gym environment to creating my own healing space, where I can offer a more personalized and peaceful experience for my clients.
I specialize in intuitive bodywork, integrating techniques like cupping and scraping, deep tissue work and stretching along with a strong focus on energy balance. My goal is not just to relieve muscle tension but to help clients feel more aligned and connected to themselves. I’m also diving deeper into energy healing, and Reiki, to expand my services and offer a more holistic approach. What sets me apart is my ability to tune into what each person truly needs. Whether that’s physical relief, emotional support, or an energetic reset. I create a safe, welcoming space where my clients can relax, let go, and receive the care they deserve. I take great pride in the relationships I build with my clients, as well as the transformations I get to witness through my work.
One of the things I’m most proud of is taking the leap to create my own healing space. It was a big, scary change, but it has allowed me to align with my purpose more fully. I also love getting involved in the community through vendor events, where I get to connect with new people and introduce them to the power of healing touch and energy work. For those considering booking with me, I want them to know that my work is more than just massage. Its about creating balance, restoring energy, and helping them feel their best inside and out. My goal is always to provide an experience that leaves them feeling lighter, more grounded, and empowered.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I keep in touch with my clients and build brand loyalty through a mix of personal connection, consistent communication, and creating a welcoming experience that keeps them coming back. I take the time to understand my clients needs, preferences, and goals. Whether they’re coming in for stress relief, pain management, or energy balancing, I tailor each session to them. I follow up after appointments to check in on how they’re feeling, offer self care tips, or provide guidance on maintaining their results. I stay active on social media, especially Instagram, where I share insights on massage therapy, energy healing, self care practices, and updates about my services. I engage with my followers by responding to messages, sharing client testimonials (with permission of course), and creating content that educates and inspires. I show appreciation for returning clients by offering special discounts, birthday perks, or exclusive deals for repeat visits. I encourage word of mouth referrals by providing incentives when clients refer friends or family to me. Also Participating in vendor events helps me connect with new people and stay involved in the local healing and wellness community. These events also allow me to showcase what I do and keep current clients engaged with new offerings or experiences. I make sure every session is more than just a service, it’s an experience. From the energy in my space to the care I put into each treatment, I want clients to leave feeling refreshed, valued, and eager to return.
Loyalty isn’t just about rewards, it’s about building trust, connection, and making people feel truly cared for. That’s what keeps my clients coming back and recommending me to others!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the biggest tests of my resilience came when I decided to leave the gym where I had worked for eight years and move my massage practice to a new space. For a long time, I felt drained and unhappy in that environment, but fear of change and uncertainty kept me there. I knew deep down that I needed to make a shift, but taking that leap felt overwhelming. Then, life forced me to slow down. I got injured from my leg and couldn’t function normally. It hit me hard, making me realize just how much stress I had been carrying and how badly I needed to prioritize my own well being. During that time, I reflected a lot on what I truly wanted a space that felt light, peaceful, and aligned with my purpose. My friend offered me a room in her home to set up my practice, and even though I was scared, I knew this was the opportunity I had been waiting for. Transitioning to my new space was both exciting and challenging. Right as I was ready to dive in, I was still recovering from being injured. I had to learn patience, listen to my body, and remind myself that healing both physically and emotionally takes time. Instead of rushing, I focused on setting clear intentions for my new space, trusting that everything would come together when the timing was right.
Now, as I step fully into this new chapter, I feel more aligned than ever. This experience taught me that resilience isn’t just about pushing through, it’s also about knowing when to pause, listen to yourself, and trust that you’re on the right path. I’ve let go of a toxic environment, embraced change, and created something that truly supports both me and my clients. That, to me, is resilience in action.
