We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adrian Taylor a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adrian, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
A huge risk I can recall was the decision to pursue a career in Music full-time. Coming from a small college town in South Bend, Indiana, there isn’t much to do when it comes to pursuing music so I had to work various jobs to support my career in music. My family expected me to finish school and pursue some sort of blue collar career, but I had always felt that life was about more than just going to school to go to work at a factory until our time on this earth was done.
An even bigger risk for me was taking a leap of faith and moving to Nashville, Tennessee to further pursue my music career. Little to no money, maybe one or two connections and I was set to get married. All the ingredients for stress indeed hahaha! Even with all of the stress of relocating to a new city, I felt it was the right move to make. Putting myself in the best position to build a family and continue building a career was essential.
I hit a lot of bumps in the road moving down to Nashville, but I never lacked. Through countless resources from new friends and acquaintances, I went from arriving in Nashville with three garbage bags of clothes and a bass amp to touring the country with various acts like Gary LeVox (formerly of Rascal Flats) and even pursuing music for TV & film!
My story is far from over and I am definitely excited to see where this road will take me! If I had not taken such big risks early on in my life, I definitely would not be here today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I grew up in south bend, Indiana and I was steeped in music from childhood to adulthood. My grandmother taught music in the South Bend School system. My mother and her two sisters sang in countless church and community choirs.
I picked up my passion for music watching my grandmother teach classes and direct choirs all over the South Bend and Elkhart, Indiana area. Seeing her impart knowledge on to so many students is one huge reason why I chose to pursue music as a career.
While I enjoy creating with other artist and programming music for other creatives, I really enjoy creating music that fosters a calm atmosphere. Sounds that people can listen to and completely unwind after a long day at work, a night out with friends, or just have it on as background music at a social gathering. This is something I would love all of my followers and fans to lean into! Knowing they have a safe space to listen freely to music that brings healing to the spirit!
Tapping into the Lo-Fi genre has been nothing short of amazing! I plan to release a lot more Lo-Fi music now that I have a good workflow under my belt. You will be able to find all new releases under a collective I have started called Green Juice Sounds. Myself along with my brilliant wife and partner LaSheena Taylor (Sheena Tailor) are working to put more good vibes out there for everyone to listen and relax to.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to express emotion in a way that connects to people! It is extremely freeing to compose a piece of music that strikes someone’s heart and helps them get through their day!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Simply put, bring good energy to those who need it! Life is getting harder and harder by the day and I along with countless other people battle with depression. The kind of music I create tends to lift my mood and I feel there is purpose in my sound.
