We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Adrian Tabb. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Adrian below.
Hi Adrian, thanks for joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I have been a hairstylist and a minister for over 20 years. A few years ago, my purpose shifted drastically as my pastor passed away, and I took the mission of leading the church. This moment was defining for me in many ways. It affirmed who I have always been and showed me that no matter what the journey is we are on, God plan and path are the most important. I realized my purpose was far greater than I had imagined.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got my start serving the community at a very young age at St. Paul AME Church in Holly Grove, Arkansas alongside my pastor and congregation. We visited nursing homes, prayed for the sick in hospitals and at homes, and engaged in other community services.
As I got older, I knew this would be a big part of my life, but I soon realized I was called to lead and not just support others.
My pastor at that time, Dr. Scot A. Tyler, taught me well and helped to groom the man and minister I’d become.
I am proud of the work that we do at Kingdom Builders Ministries in continuing the work that began in 2003 when the ministry was established, and we moved away from St. Paul AME. The mission was the same there we just gathered under a new roof and new grace. We believe in teaching, serving, and motivating others to live as God has purposed them.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My life took several twists and turns. I was not always consistently focused and dedicated. I went through personal questions, struggles, and even sabbaticals. I stepped away from what I knew was right and moral in an effort to find myself. I’m so grateful for mercy and grace. I realized I needed to get back to safety and submit to my purpose of serving. I talked to my pastor and began the restoration process to get back to living my purpose and goals.
I had to fight through the words and opinions of naysayers and friends who didn’t understand or agree with my renewed dedication. The desire to live with purpose outweighed the difficult moments.
Now the fruit of my decision is a blessing and I’m grateful.
Now, I pastor Kingdom Builders Ministries, own two salons (AMT Salon and Hair Replacement Center), I own Iron Bible College and I run Iron Global Alliance

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that preaching and working in my profession had to look a certain way. There are so many stereotypes about what ministers should look like and if they should work in the beauty industry. I’m happy to show the difference of opinion! i encourage others to create your own image, don’t conform to everyone elses.
