Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adrian O’Hare. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Adrian, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I come from a family of entrepreneurs, my mother was in business for herself as a licensed counselor so I was able to see the many extraordinary benefits to owning and operating a business. My first business was bootstrapped and started as more of a side hustle which grew rapidly to 4 locations and multiple partnerships before I exited. Initially there was no plan it was just another way to provide for my family, eventually I had to leave my job and work on the business full time. There were many trials and tribulations because I didn’t understand the in and outs of operations, marketing, sales, distribution, ect. The learning curve was very steep. What I learned from the initially startup and partnerships gave me the confidence in moving forward with opportunities that presented themselves in a new city and new brand.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been into health and fitness since I can remember. I believe one of the most important ways people can be impacted positively is what we eat. My current business focus is in the food space as a restaurant entrepreneur. My previous business was in pre-package healthy meals that incorporated a juice and smoothie bar. Currently I’ve gone down the franchise model and help operate 2 Tropical Smoothie Cafes in the San Antonio area. Seeing people use food to help them on their health and fitness journey is a true delight. As a business owner helping train and develop people is the ultimate accomplishment. Seeing the light bulb go on during the learning process brings me joy.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
This is simple, (not easy). Establish your CORE values. Once you have core values in place you have to hold yourself to these standards first and you use them as a focus for your team. You go back to the core values when encouraging, praising, commending your people, and when you need to redirect them as well.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Its very important to treat your clients with outstanding customer service. Some items we express to our team are: We’re serving smiles, we want people to feel a certain way when they come in and as they leave, go above and beyond the expectation for our customers. high touch over high tech. We want to make it personal and develop a relationship with those that decide to spend their money with us.
