We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ADRIAN JIMENEZ. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ADRIAN below.
ADRIAN, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I came up with Key Payments Solutions because I love educating business owners on how the credit card processing industry works and how it is evolving consistently. Key allows business owners to know they have options to run their business and not just one solution. Key will always stand for “Knowledge Empowers You.”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I was completely new when I ventured into the credit card processing industry. I was not an expert in the business, but told myself, “an expert was once a beginner.” There have been so many early mornings and late nights where I doubted myself in being an entrepreneur. I would ask myself, “Am I going to be successful?” “How will I make it?” – Just the emotional rollercoaster that came with self-doubt. Nevertheless, I have always overcame my fears and took them head on. One of the biggest advantages I had was that many who enter the merchant services industry will quit during the journey, and that is where my opportunity strikes.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy in growing a clientele is to sell the problem. People are far more emotional about their problems and you being able to offer a solution to that problem. Once this has been done, they will be more interested and inclined to go with my product. I do not go into a business and “product dump” on them and start rattling off all the features; and half of the features they don’t need or want. That is a really fast way to get a wall up on the prospective client that I am speaking to. It is really important to know the customer that you are speaking to. Always use humor. Whenever I can use humor or be light and a little bit vulnerable, I find that it relaxes the situation and it helps immensely.
How did you build your audience on social media?
How I build my audience is by creating several slogans that my audience can remember and creating hashtags, For example; #AvoidThe1800Number #KnowledgeEmpowersYou – This separates me from the competitors in my area. It’s catchy and it is easy to remember.
Building an audience is that you have to be authentic. As you develop the brand you have to know who is your target audience. Who your target audience is will really dictate who you are communicating with. If you’re completely informational then you need to have the best information in the entire universe. If you have a lot of experience, then that just has to feel great and your audience wants more. Next, what are you going to deliver? Because you don’t want to get into a relationship with the people that follow you and not be able to deliver. So, if you post something that you are really excited about and they do not hear from you for two or three months that is not going to build a brand or media presence. Do market research, and see what hashtags others are using.
