Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adrian Jackson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Adrian, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client?
My best advice to clients would be to not overthink things. Often times we want every aspect of our vacation plans to be perfect, but it’s important not to get overwhelmed and to be flexible when things don’t go as we originally planned. Everything tends to work out in the end.
If a client is torn between more than one travel destination, I will help them outline the pros and cons of each one. I also remind them that whichever destination they don’t choose now, they can plan to visit on the next trip.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Adrian Jackson and I have been an Independent Travel Agent since 2018. I was born in Jackson, MS and raised in Houston, TX. I am a graduate of the University of Houston and Houston Baptist University. I decided to become a travel agent after planning several vacations for my family and friends. I realized how gratifying it was to help people with travel plans and create such lifelong memories. My primary areas of focus are the Caribbean, Mexico, and island vacations. I also book cruises and a few domestic destinations such as Vegas and Orlando/Disney.
I believe what sets me apart from others is putting my clients best interest first, my organizational skills (helps tremendously with groups), and my problem solving skills. I try to personally tour destinations and hotel/resorts and complete trainings so that I can give clients advice based on firsthand experience.
I am most proud of the professional relationship I have built with my clients. Sometimes we only get one or two nice vacations a year and I am extremely honored that they trust me with such a major decision.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Referrals have helped grow my business tremendously. I appreciate all of my existing clients, family, and friends who have referred others to work with me! Social media engagement has been a huge component as well.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I started my business in September 2018. That allowed me to built clientele and learn the travel industry early on, but little did I know it would also prepare me for the industry challenges that came along with the pandemic that began in 2020. I was able to take what I already knew and combine it with what I was learning day in and day out about the pandemic, and help clients travel as safely as possible. We had to navigate cancelled flights, COVID-19 entry and travel requirements, positive COVID test results, quarantine stays, vaccine requirements, etc.
My clients trusted me during high times of uncertainty and that has motivated me so much. If I can successfully run a business during an unprecedented, once in a life time event, then I can certainly keep going.
