We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adrian Hill a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adrian, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
My name is Adrian Hill, I am a Black owner of a new business that I have recently just opened in the city of La Mesa in the area of Avocado Blvd. My Shop is called Mr.Bowties Hair Studio that focuses on everything in the Beauty Industry but more catering to Barbering. I come from a background in which was very hard coming up and I wanted to design a place to help people in the community where my businesses is located . I decided to aim for a educational background in Barbering and Cosmetology at Jasmine Beauty School. I have also become an Educator at Jasmine Beauty School.
I love to give back to the community to help the youth find a better option then getting into trouble. I try to find a place for my student’s from Jasmine Beauty School that has graduated from Cosmetology or Barber school to find a job to make them more than what they believe they can be with their hard work and dedication. I decided to open this business honestly to help people aim for a higher level in their lives and also for our customers in the community to also feel the same in their lives from the power of a haircut or from any other service that we provide. We have been open at Mr. Bowties HairStudio for about a year and we have continued to do events that help people in the community. We have had great events this year for all the holidays all the way down to back to school by handing out 65 backpacks and school supplies to the people in the community for free. We will continue to move in this movement to make a change in our community.
Adrian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Here at Mr.Bowties Hair Studio. I created and designed the studio to help people in the community. But I want people to really know that this experience here at this particular place is to help. Barbershops and Salons were designed to be in the community to stand for something. We have done all kinds of things far as events helping out the community far as back to school drives and Events dealing with our military as we continue to move forward. I definitely want people to know that we were aiming for The Next Level to the hair industry . This means that we want to help our community our clientele to dig deep down inside their potential to aim high at their goals and ambitions by a power of a haircut. We are more than just a Haircut place in the community we want to build bonds between clients and their artists at the hairstudio.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best new clients for us is through social media, and also the reward mouth and the community in which we serve.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What I believe will build a reputation in the market or in the community it’s just continue to do what we’re doing now serve people helping people, and putting up the positive energy to have people gravitate to our business, but one step at a time. Most of her reputation is off word of mouth, so we just gotta get the people to talk about us.
