We recently connected with Adri Leyva and have shared our conversation below.
Adri, appreciate you joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
I started my journey to Tarot in 2020 at the time of the pandemic. I had always felt called to Tarot but never really had the time to learn. Then when the world stopped, there was time to apply myself. After researching and growing my intuition on my own, I felt that I needed to elevate my knowledge. I found a mentor in 2022, she encouraged me to grow my skillset and follow my dreams of reading Tarot professionally. October of 2022 I launched Tarot with Adri’s virtual platform. This is still one of my favorite ways to read Tarot. I am able to connect with people around the world via an online meeting platform and have met so many amazing individuals. In December of 2022, I started to read Tarot in person at markets and local shops in San Antonio, TX. Now my business consists of both platforms where I host virtual clients during the week and then in person on the weekends. Additionally, I have been able to give back to the city of San Antonio through my monthly Tarot for the Community Event where I partner with a local food pantry and we have a night of donation based readings with all of the donations going directly to the pantry.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi my name is Adri Leyva, owner of Tarot with Adri, and my specializations are in Tarot and Pendulum readings. I offer my services both virtually and in person. My readings are open and abstract/un-structured, as this gives each querent a one of a kind spread that is unique to them. I currently reside in San Antonio, TX, with my spouse, child, and four cats. One of my goals as a reader is to always be accessible in terms of pricing. I am always willing to work with individuals in need of a reading. Additionally, one of my goals is to give back to my community though my monthly Tarot for the Community Events that serve San Antonio. Finally, I serve as a safe space that honors individuals of all gender expressions and sexualities.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I have been fortunate to be able to grow my audience through Instagram. I try to be very engaging with my followers and individuals who reach out to me directly via DM. I also post a Tarot reading in my Instagram stories every day, I feel like this opens up the conversation. I have also collaborated with other business owners and creatives for giveaways, this has helped to grow and celebrate my audience. The advice that I would give to anyone starting out is to keep posting and being as engaging as possible no matter how slow the growth process may be.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients has been through the individuals that I meet in person at shops and markets. By opening the door to in-person readings, I have been able to meet so many people who end up returning. I also have received several clients through the recommendations of my existing clients. I am thankful for everyone I meet whether in-person or virtually.
