Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Aditi Wardhan Singh, a multicultural parenting coach, author, and founder of Raising World Children. My journey into this space began with my own experiences growing up as a third-culture kid in Kuwait and later moving to the United States. Navigating cultural complexities, I saw a need to address identity, belonging, and inclusion not just for myself but for others raising globally aware children.
I provide a range of services and creative works, including books, workshops, and resources tailored for parents, educators, and organizations. My books—like How Our Skin Sparkles and The Sparkles Within—empower children to embrace their unique identities, while my resources guide adults in fostering empathy and cultural understanding.
For organizations, I help create inclusive workspaces by addressing cultural biases, promoting belonging, and building strategies that support diverse teams and families. Through my workshops and consultations, I aim to inspire lasting change in how companies and communities approach diversity, equity, and inclusion.
What sets me apart is my lived experience combined with my dedication to storytelling. I connect with people on a deeply personal level, offering actionable strategies rooted in empathy and authenticity. My work isn’t just about fostering inclusivity—it’s about empowering people to thrive, no matter where they come from or where they’re headed.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by a profound mission: to build bridges of understanding, empathy, and belonging across cultures, starting with our youngest generation. Growing up as a third-culture kid, I experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating identity and belonging in a world that often feels divided. Those experiences shaped my passion for creating stories and resources that help children and families embrace diversity while celebrating what makes them unique.
I want every child to feel seen and valued, to know they don’t have to fit into a box to belong. Through my books and workshops, I aim to empower families, educators, and organizations to foster a world where differences are celebrated, not merely tolerated.
Ultimately, my goal is to spark meaningful conversations that lead to lasting change—whether that’s a child feeling confident in their skin, a parent navigating cultural complexities with grace, or a workplace embracing the full potential of its diverse team. My journey is about planting seeds of inclusion and watching them grow into a more empathetic and connected world.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What truly helped build my reputation within the market is my unwavering commitment to creating stories that break stereotypes and fill the gaps left by traditional publishing. I recognized early on that many books either perpetuated outdated narratives or catered to a narrow audience, leaving children from diverse backgrounds without stories that reflected their experiences.
Instead of following the crowd, I leaned into the unique need for authentic, multicultural stories that challenge norms and celebrate individuality. I’ve focused on crafting narratives that empower children to see their worth, embrace their heritage, and reject limiting stereotypes—whether it’s through characters who shatter gender expectations or themes that encourage cultural pride and empathy.
Parents, educators, and organizations quickly recognized the value of these stories. They saw how my books weren’t just entertainment but tools for meaningful change—helping kids develop a sense of belonging and teaching them to appreciate differences in others. By staying true to my mission and consistently delivering high-quality, impactful content, I’ve earned the trust and respect of my audience.
What sets my work apart is that it isn’t just about representation for representation’s sake—it’s about creating transformative experiences for readers and sparking conversations that shift mindsets. That authenticity has been the foundation of my reputation in the market.
