Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adisa Ziric and Francesco Bonsinetto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Adisa & Francesco, appreciate you joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
Both me and Francesco have wonderful parents that instilled in us great values. Something that really stands out especially when it comes to our business are the values of hospitality, respect others and appreciation of real food. For our private dinners, cooking classes, pop-up events, and team building experiences, we like to support our local food system and San Diego micro farms, getting the freshest beyond organic produce, what we call real food. We are always amazed at how many individuals are not aware of the amazing food our local farmers grow and the great quality of real food we have in our city. When guests attend our events they can taste the difference and are always inspired by the way we approach cooking and eating. In today’s world many are eating junk food, buying tasteless produce from the grocery stores, and have the idea that eating healthy and right is a difficult thing. It is because of our parents and upbringing that we are always seeking out farmers, the freshest produce and food that tasted as good as when we were growing up. For us it’s a natural thing that was instilled in our taste buds from childhood.
We also come from countries, Sicily and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where hospitality is as natural as eating real home cooked food everyday. Our clients are always raving about how hospitable we are when they arrive in our home. We did not think much of this until we attended a few events organized by other companies and experienced the cold sterile approach and atmosphere. Real hospitality is not something one can ever truly learn unless they grew up in an environment where it was the most natural thing. During our culinary interactions, our guests\clients become part of our family It’s the value of community that we are trying to build. It is something that they feel and is not a skill that can be learned in culinary school.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Our business, Cucina Migrante, is a private chef company. We organize many culinary events from cooking classes, pop up dinners, private dining experiences for companies and individuals. The name translated means Migrant Kitchen and is symbolic to us as we travel from kitchen to kitchen and also because we are both immigrants. Sometimes we host dinners at our location other times we travel to our clients homes or venues. We pride ourselves in supporting local micro farmers and food providers. Our clients are looking for experiences rather than just a boring cooking class. Our philosophy is that food is the ultimate human connector. With our fun personalities and warm hospitable approach we offer them an authentic experience where they become more united with each other and their food. What sets us apart is the love and passion we have for real food and uniting people around the dining table.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For us the most effective strategy for growing our clientele has been doing a great job so they come back and spread the word. Our best marketing tool has been word of mouth. We never cut corners in our business and our clients feel that. They keep coming back again and again, and referring us to their family and friends.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Providing a great quality service and delicious food, and doing it with love and from the heart has helped to build our reputation in our market. Bein real and keeping our nature is crucial. Our clients know that whenever they dine with us they will be eating the most freshest seasonal food our farmers have to offer.
