Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adina Doss. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Adina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Have you ever experienced a times when your entire field felt like it was taking a U-Turn?

Not really a U-turn, more like a roundabout. Lol! I’ve been a professional in the hair industry for over 25 years. I am a global educator for a major hair color/hair care brand for 23 years. 10yrs ago as I was diving into my own spiritual practice I began sharing my journey with my salon guests. As I was learning I was able to use some of my new found modalities on my clients. All that were willing of coarse. After 2yrs of what I call a personal apprenticeship I began providing services behind the chair. Recognizing the profound impact these services had on my guests, helping them feel their best and also look their best as the left the salon.
As an educator it seemed important to share what it was that I was doing with the salons I was working with. Not about the actual practices itself but more about the quality service I was providing and how important it was to take care of myself first before I could provide service to each and every guest that sat in my chair. This led me to write a program that supports my brands motto of Learn better. Earn better. Live BEST! It’s about how as an industry provider we can manage our own energy in order to serve. Along with technical skill and really showing up for each guest.

In turn this led to wanting to educate on an even bigger scale. Hope one day to take this farther than my community.

For now I took the next steps of creating a space for community in west LA and opened a spiritual wellness center in Feb. 2022.
Here we provide an array of different classes, events, and one on one sessions such as yoga, meditation, Sound Bath, full moon, ceremonies, new moon ceremonies, sacred tea, ceremonies dance classes, manifestation classes, breath work classes, wild feminine embodiment classes… our 1:1 sessions are anything from reiki, intuitive tarot, pranic healing, crystal light therapy, crystal readings and more.
We have pop ups that bring in local venders to share their art and skills.
We have a small retail shop that supports locals as well. It’s about community, education and the exploration of one’s self.
So although it was a turn it was still in the self care realm which helps empower individuals to live their best life.
I still work behind the chair, I still am on the road teaching for Redken and I have an amazing space for practitioners to host their skills, classes and events.
I LOVE what I do!!! I feel honored and blessed to be where I am at, doing what I am doing!!!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am a mother. I am a hairstylist. I am a global educator. I am a wellness coach. I am an entrepreneur. Some call it girl bossing, I call it living in my truth and in the full potential of who I am and what it is that I have to offer, I have created each one of my practices with my guests in mind. How it is that we can provide services to elevate each individual to also live in their truth, their beauty and their own power.

Mastery Inner Beauty Collective is the newest venture to share with my community and hopefully beyond. Giving people a safe space to practice their journey into self exploration and self expression. Giving them tools and resources to use while they are there and also to take home to carry these practices into their day to day life. So that they can LIVE their BEST life!

Mastery is a small intimate space where we provide Inner Beauty services, such as yoga, meditation, SoundBath, different ceremonies and events, including our one on one sessions in a private room. Most of our classes max out at 15 people if not less depending on if you’re laying down or sitting up. Dancing, moving, etc.
We love a good pop up to bring in community and share a day of fun!
Most of all we are all here to serve into not only what we have come here to do personally but share it with all we come into contact with. The integrity of this community is focused on you as the individual above all.
I’m so proud of the space and everyone that is there to share what it is that they have to offer.
It is my goal as the founder to grow this into an ever evolving space that brings to each individual, what it is that they seek for themselves.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

If you can believe it, you won’t believe it I was in Savannah Georgia. I just left the Crystal shop. I sat in the car for a moment after I had had an incredible experience with another one of the patrons of this crystal shop. The encounter was beyond. I was able to help this individual with what it was that she was looking for within that space, it felt rewarding and exciting. I was proud of that moment. The next thing I knew I was driving to a second crystal shop. along the way that inner voice spoke to me stating “we want to know why you think you’re not opening a crystal shop in Los Angeles” I thought for a moment to myself, that’s absurd. That’s crazy talk there’s no way… Once I arrived at the second location, I had an encounter with a reader she sat me down. She laid the cards out and told me I had what it takes to make the shift, and that I’ve been given all of the tools and the resources to make that shift happen it was with the gasp and tears rolling down my face. I knew that life was going to change for me in that moment.
You never know how long some thing like that is going to take for me it was two days later and 1 foot in front of the other six months later I was opening the doors to Mastery Inner Beauty Collective not only a crystal shop but a safe space for people to go as they are on their own journey of self reflection, self empowerment Self exploration and desiring the support system that is there to help them on that journey.

From that moment on, it was about trusting myself, trusting the process, and trusting that I was meant to be where I was at doing what it was that I was doing, and I am thankful every day for the strength that it takes to make it all happen.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

Life is a constant opportunity to pivot in all aspects of your life business personal life. The faster we give ourselves the opportunity to sit, listen and move, according to where our soul guidance is taking us, no matter how hard or different the circumstances may be on the other side of the pivot. We are able to endure them knowing deep within ourselves, that we are being guided to exactly where we need to be. Not always easy, not always clear. But the more present we are in and the ability to take one small step at a time those series of steps will lead you to exactly where you’re meant to be.
