We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adereio Jones Jr. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Adereio, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission for “COS” Circle of Success is to surround yourself with people on the same mission as you. With a strong core circle striving for most of the same goals nothing is impossible, their will always be bumps in the road but with a loyal dedicated team you’ll overcome any adversity your faced with. COS is a lifestyle brand that branched into other segments like music, and personal training. Although, it’s all under the same umbrella they have different names and purposes from cosclothing. AJMEDEX is designed to transform you and give you a positive mindset in health. Cos Productionz is a record label designed to spread messages throughout the world. Cos clothing is designed to make you feel good about yourself and your style the same way as designer clothes.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Long story short in the most humblest way possible I am the JOAT aka mr. Hunnit hustles. What sets me apart is I am a man that isn’t afraid to try new things instead of putting all my eggs in 1 basket. You never know what’s your talent or purpose in life if you don’t try different things. Floyd once said 7 or more consistent sources of income will have you close to or being a millionaire and I live by that. I’m a personal trainer/yoga instructor, clothing designer (@cosclothing), artist, event host and planner in other words just a all around businessman. I’m proud that I was able to turn a downward spiral into the greatest achievement in life. Due to covid I got my degree October 18, 2020 which opened my mind up to different avenues. After graduating I became a personal trainer (@AJMEDEX), locked in more with music dropping a tape called, “Ontology” on New Years with King Liah, 00Tru, and Tay Dollaz who got the outro song “Adjustments” and I shot a video to the intro song as well as the outro which is at 6k viewers on YouTube. What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I had to unlearn was “others over self”. My senior year at Greenville University I made that my senior football speech for the most important lesson I learned at GU. However, after I graduated and went back home over a period of time putting others over self was helping myself it was actually hurting me. I had to realize you can’t help people who don’t want to be helped even if it was for the better sometimes you have to focus on yourself and better yourself first.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
I had a lot of close calls with Cos clothing from custom orders for people at a specific date to our 1st fashion show I put a bundle order in for the show which was on July 8, 2017 the shipment was taking to long so we went to the manufacturer and picked them up the same day as the fashion show but luckily made it on time and everything went smoothly for a first show.
