Adenike, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
As a young girl, I watched how hard my mom worked at her job and career. Even while working a full time job, she found a way to earn her Masters degree. She instilled in me the need to work for “your own” and not be dependent on any one or any man. At such a young age she impressed upon me the need for good education. I’m ever grateful for her.
Adenike, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Lawyer turned Content Creator.
I started out my career as a lawyer and after practicing for a few years, I decided to pursue a career in TV/Media/Film. This was an industry I was, still am, very passionate about. Through this new career change, I was able to develop my passion into a career that I love.
At the moment I creator content online using Joy and Storytelling as my anchors. These are always at the core of any content that I put out.
I also work as a filmmaker. We most recently wrapped on the set of my Directorial Debut, Ch3mistry. I’m looking forward to everyone enjoying it.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had always confused “Consistency” with “Remaining the same”. However, I very important lesson that I learned was that it is very much okay for you to reinvent yourself. Growing, making changes, and getting better is very crucial for any successful business.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The need to make an impact. I strongly believe that I have a great destiny and my purpose is to impact my world positively. Hence, I put my gifts and talents to work with faith that it leads me in the direction that God wants me to go.
