Hi Adelmarie, thanks for joining us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Yes, I do take vacations. As a business owner, maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal time is essential. While it can be challenging to step away, it’s important to spend quality time with family, decompress, and enjoy some downtime. Taking breaks not only recharges my energy but also helps me return to work with a fresh perspective and renewed focus.

I’m Adelmarie Rivera, a financial advisor, insurance agent, and veteran with a passion for crafting legacies and empowering others to take control of their financial futures. My journey into this industry began with a desire to help individuals and families navigate the complexities of financial planning and insurance, especially within my community.
I specialize in budget strategies, risk management, and retirement planning, working closely with families—particularly businesswomen and mothers—to demystify finance and empower them to take control of their financial destinies. I joined this industry because once I experienced financial harship myself after the death of my late husband and not having the proper financial education nor control over financial affairs. I utilize my own experiences to be able to better help others. I’m passionate about this work because I know firsthand the peace of mind that financial security can bring.
What sets me appart from others is my holistic approach and ability to integrate various aspects of financial planning, including budgeting, risk management, and retirement planning by providing a comprehensive service. I do this with a personal touch and high level of client care that is focused on families. I am merely the crafter of your strategy, you are still in full control of the outcome.


How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I built my reputation in the market by prioritizing honesty and integrity. Early on, I recognized that giving a well-researched and accurate answer was far more valuable than providing a quick but potentially misleading response. When faced with questions outside my expertise, I didn’t hesitate to do the necessary research to provide informed answers, rather than offering a bogus response.
Additionally, I dedicated myself to developing strong relationships within the community through consistent volunteer work. By actively participating and giving back, I built trust and demonstrated my commitment to the community’s well-being. Holding myself accountable for my commitments further reinforced my reliability and credibility. Together, these practices not only helped me gain respect and trust within my market but also ensured that I was providing genuine value to those I served.


What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The most effective source of clientele for me has been referrals and building a strong network of professional connections. By consistently demonstrating the value of my work, I’ve earned the trust and respect of other professionals in my field. This has led to them referring their clients to me and introducing me to their networks.
These referrals are incredibly valuable because they come with a built-in level of trust and credibility. As a result, my network has become an essential part of my business development, helping me reach new clients and grow my practice organically.
