We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Adeleh Yarmohammadi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Adeleh, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

From the earliest stages of my upbringing, my parents bestowed upon me the invaluable gift of exposure to a diverse array of fields. Their guidance led me down a path of exploration, where I was able to delve into various domains and truly discover my own capabilities. It wasn’t long before I came to realize that art courses through my veins, infusing every fiber of my being with a profound sense of purpose and joy. Their nurturing guidance enabled me to unearth a passion that resonates with the core of my identity, reminding me that genuine happiness flourishes when one embraces their innate artistic inclinations.

From the outset of my journey, a resolute calling to aid others as a healer ignited within me. This noble aspiration, fostered since my earliest days, eventually converged with my artistic inclinations, shaping an extraordinary path. Amid the rigorous corridors of medical school, a search for the intersection of visual artistry and medical science led me to the captivating realm of ophthalmology. Here, I found my heart’s resonance, as the intricate tapestry of the eye mirrored the delicate strokes of my artistic soul. My profound affection for this field burgeoned, affirming my enduring dedication to harmonizing my dual passions of artistry and science. Embracing this synergy, I’ve come to be affectionately known among peers and patients alike as “the facial artist,” a title that encapsulates the symphony of creativity and healing that defines my purposeful journey

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?

Looking back on my journey, I can say without a doubt that I’d choose the same path all over again. Ophthalmology, with its mix of visual artistry and scientific finesse, is where my heart finds its home. If I could turn back time, I’d follow the same road that led me here. There’s something magical about how ophthalmology weaves together art and science, making every procedure and diagnosis a unique blend of both. This specialty lets me heal with skill while indulging my artistic side, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

In the dynamic landscape of my profession, several core principles have played a pivotal role in shaping my reputation within the market. Foremost among them is the unwavering commitment to empathy, an innate ability to connect with patients on a human level, and to truly understand their concerns.
